Quick & Nonetheless Operating None I've been employing SSD in RAID for my last couple of builds as properly as a create for a friend. In general they are problematic. The technology is still finding its balance and I know that so I don't get too upset when I have to rebuild a technique (its happened twice). Bang for the buck these drives are the very best deal around. So far I've had these up and running for a little more than 2 months without having a issue. Two suggestions... Be certain to disable the default defrag scheduled job in Win7 and run RAID .. its a noticeable efficiency distinction.

We all know this; The compact size and Speed/s. For what was advertised this product is 100% None for me. I have a really effective pc, and the HDrive I had was as properly. The boot times were incredibly managable prior to SSD purchase. However the SSD has produced it appear like another pc entirely with BOOTup times & specifically shutting down. The programs load exceptionally quickly. I will never be with out an SSD from here on out. There are quicker, but this 1 is hugely successful. Win7 index 7.4 ( it did take me a min. to realize which SATA port to plug it into- when I located that port it ran beautifully with the old drive as storage@ full speeds on both)

Drive was reasonably quick. Light and quiet. This failed inside 3 months. Would not be recognized by any controller. Dead, with all data gone. I have 3 other SSD's and they all are dependable for over a year. This is the initially SSD that fails on me.

Installed 2 in my Mac Pro as a RAID array. Extremely quickly. A performance improvement over my 4xVelociraptor RAID array, especially in the uncached random write category. Units terribly unreliable. With the Corsair units installed, the personal computer would lock up when a day. I would reboot from a diverse tough drive and run Disk Utility on the Corsair RAID array. Disk Utility would throw file system errors and ultimately say "Drive is not repairable", meaning the file technique could not be rebuilt. This is using Journaled HFS+ as the file method, which is impervious to system crashes. Apparently, one or both of the units would fail for the duration of a write operation, which would lock up my computer, and it seems the write cache on the drive didn't get written to the flash as journaled HFS+ really should never ever be "unrepairable", unless of course, the drive stated a write was committed to disk that actually was not.My system functioned just fine prior to installation, and now that I'm back running on the Velociraptors, works excellent, so it's undoubtedly the Corsair drives, and not my technique. I'm not going to mess around on an problem like this with a firm that only gives support via a forum. I want to function within Newegg's 30-day RMA window, and failing Newegg's cooperation on this problem, my credit card business's chargeback window, so I don't have time to mess around with forum support shenanigans.I'm working with Newegg to swap out for a distinct brand, which appears to get much better evaluations. I wish I would have just completed that in the initial spot.

Super fast, uncomplicated to install, small, quiet, no moving parts and just plain cool. Also, you get a reliable sandforce controller with Corsair high quality. I'm not positive if it's due to me getting one of these recently, (updated firmware) but I have had NO complications the individuals below are expiriencing. Only 60gb =(Didn't speed up my installation times any.(Make sure you have a SATA II cable, it dosen't come with one) Wow, am I glad I spent the additional funds on this! I don't care if you think I'm exaggerating or not, but my Win 7 Pro boot time is about 10 seconds with this ssd! I assume this is due to the SSD. I have never seen anything like this, my old boot time was atleast 30 seconds.Program install times are typical, but wait until you see load times, there are NONE!! Starcraft two loads instantaneously. Firefox-you click it, BOOM, it's ready to go. Click shutdown on the pc, BAM!-it's turned off. Well, all I can say is get 1.My method specs (everything purchased off newegg.com on 10ቲ񳏊-arrived 10ቶ񳏊) 񘍔.00 budget::Case: Cooler Master HAF 922Mainboard: MSI 890FXA-GD70Cpu: AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE 3.4GhzMemory: Mushkin Enhanced 8GB ƔGBx2)Graphics: XFX Radeon HD 5830 ƑGB)SSD: Corsair Force 60GBHdd: Seagate 7200rpm 1 TB (OEM)Psu: Corsair 750txDVD Burner: Samsung (OEM)OS: Windows 7 PRO 64 -bit (OEM)Additional Side Fan: Cooler Master Mega Flow 200

1 Star for the Drive (lowest you can go), five Stars for NewEgg who took care of me on this matter Doesn't start to to be near advertised speeds, also advertised as 'full' capacity which sadly it's not. On initial build caused random BSODs, which soon after utilizing either of two different brands of SSDs there was no troubles. Exact same factor in two other systems, BSODs out of no exactly where on established boxes. A complete waste. Non-Existent/Knowledgeable tech support. Used to use a ton of their components but immediately after recent complications w/ sets of DRAM and now this, will drop them as a vendor and stick w/ others that pay attention to QC and their prospects Manufacturer Response:We are sorry that you had an concern with your SSD. It appears as if you merely got a defective drive and we appreciate Newegg quickly resolving this for you. For future reference, our support forums and our product pages are heavily populated with resources for our consumers.External Link(s): CORSAIR|

In Fedora 14 and Ubuntu 10.10 I was obtaining errors relating to 512 poor sectors. I plugged plugged into my netbook and installed windows in the drive, installed FW 2. making use of windoze OS. Following the upgrade the drive runs smooth, no lock up difficulties.Runs at advertised speeds, wonderful reads and writes, each sequential and random. Drive needs firmware 2., if you have a way to install this firmware you'll be ok. Acquire it, it's quick! Passes all test with flying colours.

I used this as a OS drive. Instead of Velociraptor 300gb that now I use for games. I find out that it's not silent. I mean, I can hear buzzing sound come from it,when disk is used. No big deal as long as it last.Great drive extremely responsive. Could do little bit more on 4k reads. BTW 34nm Nand Chip ! Cool 10000 cycles instead of 3000 for 8$ more bucks. Be aware, is you can afford go with 120Gb!

Got this thing for a Mac Pro. Installing Snow Leopard was painless, and wow, does this factor rock. three - five second boot times into the desktop from when the screens come on. Firefox loads in some thing like a second.OSX recognized it without having a bit of complaint. It works just like any other drive, other than being a lot, a lot quicker. The included drive tray does not work in a hot-swap SATA drive sled (either in the Mac Pro or in a Supermicro case I have), and I've had to do some silliness to get the drive in place for appropriate now. There are aftermarket sleds for the Mac to mount the SSD, and there are some 2.five" - three.5" adapters obtainable that do work in these bays. I'm glad to see these newer SSDs come down in cost so us mere mortals can afford them - we may well be purchasing some for our database servers at work.

Corsair Force Series CSSD-F60GB2-BRKT 2.5" MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
Cons: - Slower than the cheaper Crucial C300 64GB or the 34nm Vertex 2- SMART reading is wrong and could cause unnecessary panic- The seal was broken when I received the drive...

Pros: - 34nm NAND (soon to be extinct)- Almost the same speed as the 120GB Corsair drive
Comment:
When I got the drive the seal was broken... SMART shows the drive hasn't been used, however the lifetime reading for a brand new drive has already been less than 100%. Corsair claims the SMART reading is wrong. (There is a thread in their forum.)Not too happy with the speed, given that the Crucial C300 64Gb can be bought for cheaper price.

Super fast boot times. Has cut load times in games and photo processing time to nearly nothing in my rig. A perfect boot drive pairing with windows 7 in a desktop with a roomy storage drive. Might be small for enthusiast notebooks but would be great for netbooks. Installation was a breeze with the included 3.5 inch bracket.

OCZ failures drove me to this brand. Vertex 1's are prone to fail premature. This one 2, Keep a back up of your work, be safe. Failure can happen in a blink. For the power user, get two raid 0 setups, say the Force Series 80 on sale now. If your doing edits in photos or videos " this is so going to reduce your time by 80% "
