Corsair Neutron Series GTX 240GB SATA3 2.5in 6GB/S LAMD LM87800 Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:Runs hot
Pros:Very Fast Drive Comment:
I bought this drive because it was on sale, 7mm, and I read some good reviews about it, and I am happy with it so far. I had a 120 GB Mushkin Chronos SSD before I bought this drive and, though I don't notice a difference when doing everyday tasks, running a benchmark on both drives shows an extreme difference in read and write speeds between them. The free tool that I downloaded to benchmark the drive (AS SSD Benchmark) shows 480 MB sequential read and 420 MB sequential write speed, compared to 200 and 100 on the Chronos 120GB in the same laptop (which I thought was strangely low). The only con I have experienced so far is during whole drive encryption with Bitlocker, the drive got very hot (56 C), and since it is right underneath my wrist it is not ideal. The Mushkin drive never went above 40 C, even during encryption. |

Corsair Neutron Series GTX 240GB SATA3 2.5in 6GB/S LAMD LM87800 Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:unstable
Pros:Crazy speed (7.9 on windows 7 chart) Comment:
At first i use this ssd for my windows 7 instalation but it was very unstable. My windows explorer would stop working. Sometimes my BIOS would stop recognize it. I decide to only use it for a gaming disc and i haven't had any probleme since then so far. |
I have had this SSD for several months now and it has been quite reliable and fast. I had a little issue setting it up first but it was a issue with my bios setting. Make sure your sata is set to AHCI for any SSD
