Corsair Obsidian Series 700D CC700D Black Computer Case
Cons:
You won't be the first to arrive at the Lan Party or you are stuck hosting the party.Oh... this is big.. no this is huge. I always wondered why the host on the video review looked like a little person. Not really a weakness for me, but just letting you know.
Pros: Excellent build quality. Nice push button release of both side panels. No screws of any kind. The pre-installed fans are quiet and efficient. I have no cooling problems whatsoever. Comment:
For my tastes this is a very very attractive case. Lots of room, great tooless design. The bag of black screws, stand-offs, and extra fan isolators are nice. |

Corsair Obsidian Series 700D CC700D Black Computer Case
Cons:
All weaknesses have counter measures. Great job corsair-Corsair fans aren't the greatest, but at least they give you fans where they are needed.-The quick lock mechanism for 5.25 bay didn't hold my DVD burner in place (Tried about 10 times), but they provide the screws and its much more sturdy anyways.
Pros: More than enough spaceEverything is Matte Black (all hardware provided is black too)Sturdy constructionAmount of mounting optionsClean look without hot swap bays and extra covers.Upside down psu mounting. Comment:
I was torn between the 800D and the 700D. Both offer great options, basically the same chasis with a few minor differences. There have been a few complaint for the 800D complaining about the rear exhaust fan "clicking" and now I know what they meant. Replaced all fans with Scythe Gentle Typhoon 1850 rpm. Major difference in cooling and quietness. No annoying LED's and nice colors too. Installing Coolit Vantage cpu cooler was a breeaze and more than enough room to route cables for everything.I managed to pick mine up for a price of $165 from another vendor because there was a dime sized dent in the lower panel on access side of case. I wanted the clear side from the 800D, but didn't want the rest. Will be ordering the 800D side panel from Corsair. Beautiful setup. Very impressed. |

Corsair Obsidian Series 700D CC700D Black Computer Case
Cons:
- Pricey- Gigantic Case (more so than most)- Could have been a way to manage cables in the back such as a wide elastic band type to keep them all from bunching to the bottom
Pros: - Roomy- Cable Management- Almost tool-less setup- Ventilation- Heat zones Comment:
I have been in the market for a new case and the Corsair 800D was my first choice, the only thing that deterred me from picking it up was the price tag, not even my old Lian Li was that high. Then came the 700D, it was cheaper (during sales) and the only omissions from its bigger brother is the hot swap bays and the window so with the rebate and sale combo, I took the plunge and bought one.My first impressions of the case was IT WAS MASSIVE, I totally underestimated the size, the box alone filled almost the entire trunk of my full sized sedan. It was very well packaged and it arrived home safe and unharmed.Package that came with the case had all the screws you needed for the various peripherals you would install and all separated into their individual ziplock bags (very nice touch). Installing the motherboard was easy and even after installation, using the back plate to install the cooler was no problem. The cable management system is excellent, my only beef with the back panel is that there is nothing there to keep the cables in check, maybe an elastic band that goes across would be welcomed so it would keep some cables in place and not bunch down due to gravity. The included fans are all tucked into their proper areas and my motherboard does not have enough plugs to power them so I'll have to go and buy a fan controller as I would like to install a few more on the top (which has room for 3 120mm)Overall, I am very satisfied with this case, easiest case I've ever used. A bit bigger than I expected but will still fit in the area I need it to be in around my desk. If you have the money (and catch it on sale), I recommend this case as Corsair did their homework and put out a fabulous case |
I purchased this case on sale and am very pleased. It has plenty of room and many cooling options. It has a very plain but sleek look for anyone who likes a nice case but not all the flash of lights or windows. My P6T Deluxe, i7 920, Thermalright Ultra 120, GTX 460, DVD and Blu-ray,6 HD's. All fit nice and run cool. It is a large case though so make sure you have the room. Would buy again if on sale.
