Cons:-not good for music (you should turn virtual 7.1 off)-7.1 driver doesn't handle sounds in some games correctly

the headphone didn't come with a cd and I highly recommend you to download the latest driver from corsair, otherwise, you can't turn on the virtual 7.1 surround sound and the mic may not work properly.secondly, you may want to disable all non-corsair sound drivers off (i.e. motherboard driver, windows driver and etc) because the microphone may not work properly (you can hardly hear your own voice). lastly, spend some time to tweak the settings in the corsair software and in-game audio settings to get the best out of the virtual 7.1 system (select the source type carefully). The virtual 7.1 is not as good as I expected (tested in bf4, cod-ghost and a few other games). I can't really tell if sounds are coming from the side or from the rear (maybe I have bad ears / did not have the right settings). You can't compare this to the true 5.1/7.1 speakers (this is the first 7.1 virtual headphone I have). |

Purchased these as I was seriously lacking a decent headset; for my voice chat needs I was relying on my speakers paired with a 30$ webcam I obtained secondhand. Needless to say the mic on these is much better and people are pleased that there is no more feedback.The sound quality is not the best you'll ever here (I'm comparing to a friend's setup who has AKG Q701s paired with an Asus Xonar and headphone amp) but it is definitely good enough for my needs. |
Overall and amazing product for the price. the mic quality is quite good, and if you like to game for extended periods of times then these things are great, they're very soft and sit perfectly on the head. These are also very loud I was quite impressed with how loud they could actually go. The only thing I would suggest is making sure to change the equalizer for output as I found the treble was a bit louder than I would normally like.
