Great fan for the buck. Too many are either to noisy or to underperforming. This is a nice balance. |

What do screws cost? 10 cents? Id pay an extra buck to have screws shipped with it so I didnt have to go to the hardware store. |

I bought 2 of theses and i am pleasantly surprise on how quiet they are for 140mm. For so cheap i was expecting way less in quality for the build but Cougar proved me wrong :) |
First off I'd like to say it was strange to receive a couple of these in bubble wrap and no screws. Not a big deal to me, usually Cougar fans come with ugly chrome screws anyways, I always have black ones kicking around. That aside, these are great performing fans for the cost, full they are a bit loud to me, but push a pretty good amount of air. I usually run 2 of them around 850rpm, hardly hear them, with 3x120mm cougars, all medium settings, roughly 800rpm. Honestly very good bang for the buck done quietly. At 700rpm they are as quiet as anything out there, if you can live with the non-retail no frills packaging, these are great 140mm fans. I would have bought Fractal Designs fans(ever so slightly quieter), but hard to find in stock, but these are great too and a little cheaper. Used in an HTPC 20feet away from where I sit and its dead silent medium settings, its definitely audible at max though, but with a HD7970 and X4 860K, honestly medium settings keep it cool enough in Fractal Design's Core 1500 case, pretty darn happy with my purchase!
