Excellent way to share your cellular 3G connection
Comment:
I have a Verizon 3G wireless USB stick, and was looking for an alternative to having to connect the stick and launch the VZAccess Manager. Painful having to that all the time. Now, with the PHS-300, I just plug the USB stick in, power it up, and in 5 seconds I can connect to the internet. Even better, it has a built in battery, so you're not tied to a wall. Haven't tested the battery life yet, but it worked straight out of the box. Settings and customization is pretty much like all the setting you would see in a regular WiFi router. Amazing, and much cheaper than a MiFi, plus you're not tied to being in a particular carrier (works with GSM and CDMA and WiMax cellular providers). |

Very good product. I use two different USB stick modem and it worked like a breeze. Just have to wait for Ipad now. Advice; check carefully the brand of your USB stick broadband modem. |

Great Product
Comment:
I bought it last year for my wife and I to surf from both of our computers while we are on vacation, but it works great in the car on trips and it gives my iPad an internet connection without having to purchase a separate data plan. Love it! |

Slickest thing since sliced bread!
Comment:
Took it out of the box, didn't even charge it up, and it worked right away. I travel in an RV with three laptops (okay, I'm a retired nerd), and it makes connecting to the Internet a breeze in campgrounds that don't offer WiFi (and those that do, I'm leery of their security). No it's not 4G, but there isn't that much 4G our there yet. 3G is just fine of our Internet needs while on the road. |

3G ONLY... No 4G Support
Comment:
Be careful, this is HW1.1. You need HW2.0 to support 4G. CradlePoint WILL not help. They are more than happy to sell you HW2.0 directly from them for List Price. |

Low Price Here But Older Hardware Revision
Comment:
Works perfectly with both my 3G CDMA USB broadband modem and 3G HTC Touch phone. If you're planning on using this with a 4G WiMax modem, it won't work even with the latest firmware update. Hardware Version 2.0 is needed to work with WiMax but this is Ver 1.1. If you buy at the retail outlet, examine the barcode label before you buy. Otherwise, I haven't seen a price lower than here. |

Older Hard Ware version
Comment:
Even though the name is the same - PHS300 comes in two varieties - one that supports only 3G networks and the later model that supports both 3G and 4G. The manufacturer is doing a pretty poor job of letting the customers know which is which. Also, their customer service is pretty poor. Have to wait on the phone for over an hour and half to get a live person. Had high hopes for this product. Cradlepoint can easily fix this. |

Tricky setup but works great
Comment:
Website implies it works with Canadian carriers out of the box, but in fact I needed some manual config to get it to work. Tested with a rocket stick, and had to configure the device with the APN of internet(dot)com for it to work. Also works with BB Bold 9000 which was an unexpected surprise! Overall good product and I'm happy with my purchase. |

Works great

I bought this and a virgin mobile broadband card. Now I have a wifi connection anywhere I go. Use it for my Ipod touch. I can buy time on virgin mobile for $20 bucks a month. |
This worked flawlessly out of the box. I ran into one issue when trying to use the Cisco VPN client. I found the answer at the first forum I went to. It was a simple port forward. I use an AT&T USBConnect Mercury 3G modem. The battery life of the PHS300 is very good. I have only tested it with 5 connections. There were no issues with any of the connections. I highly recommend the Cradlepoint PHS300. And, no, I do not work for them. I am an IT Director.
