Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 24BIT Sound Card 7.1 PCI OEM
Cons:- Not using the X-Fi chip, but the Audigy chip- No support for Stereo Mix/Wave out (or what Creative likes to call it "What U Hear". Even onboard Realtek chipsets support this feature.- Bottomline crappy software with tons of installation issues to finally get it working properly and updated.
Pros:- It's by Creative- Audigy chipset with X-Fi logo |

Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 24BIT Sound Card 7.1 PCI OEM
Cons:Poor linux compatibility (Headphone jack won't disabled speakers)
Pros:Decent sound qualityFront-panel connectors Comment:
I bought this as an upgrade from this: http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=17424I needed the front-panel connectors. Given they had the same chipset, I expected this card to also work well with Linux. Unfortunately that was not the case. While the old card worked out of the box, this one required a recompiled version of Alsa. Even that didn't fully work. When I plug in my headphones, the speakers keep going.I'm sure this feature would work fine on Windows. But I expect a company like Creative to be able to support linux too.I would have rated this 2 stars, but this rating system claims my order ID is not valid. My order ID is valid; I did purchase this item from NCIX. |

Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 24BIT Sound Card 7.1 PCI OEM
Cons:This card is not an X-Fi card. It is a rebranded Audigy.
Pros:Nothing at all is good about this card. Comment:
This card is a rebranded Audigy. It is not a good card at all. Do not purchase this card if you want an X-Fi card because it's not on the same level as real X-Fi cards. The price is barely acceptable for this card though you can probably get a better Audigy for a few bucks less. |

Pros: Price, quality, name(it's a Soundblaster) Comment:
Previously using Asus on-board audio and always had mic issues while gaming. Put this bad boy in and what a difference it's made! Fantastic for gaming! Using with XP Pro, drivers work great. This board has taken my audio to where it needed to be. |

Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 24BIT Sound Card 7.1 PCI OEM
Cons:none
Pros:Great soundinstalled easySmallunbeatable price Comment:
Its a huge improvement over onboard sound. i even noticed my FPS get better in games because i have dedicated sound hardware as opposed to onboard.i was not a believer until now. i used to think onboard sound was good enough. I wont build a computer without on of these bad boys in it anymore. For me or anyone else. |

Cons:VISTA!!!

Cons:As of now none
Pros:CheapGood ValueGreat Performance Comment:
Ultimately we can conclude that this is a great deal, especially since I snagged it on ncix's back to school deals. So far its been very solid and is a huge improvement over my old onboard sound. |

Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 24BIT Sound Card 7.1 PCI OEM
Cons:none
Pros:cheapnice soundit's a creative Comment:
I needed a sound card because some games like Supreme Commander take in a performance hit when using onboard sound. After installing this there was a very noticable increase in performance and the sound quality is much better then onboard. I would definitly recommend this card. |

Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 24BIT Sound Card 7.1 PCI OEM
Cons:None
Pros:Great Gaming or general use card at a great price. Comment:
I put this sound card into a computer I had built that will be used mainly for office applications, so it's a bit overkill. But, it was only $40, and I always prefer adding a sound card over using onboard audio. Works great. |

Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 24BIT Sound Card 7.1 PCI OEM
Cons:Lack of support for VistaPoor drivers
Pros:PriceDefinite upgrade to on board sound Comment:
All in all, it's hard to complain about this product if you buy it on sale. My biggest beef however, is the lack of support for Windows Vista. The card works fine for me but I am still having trouble with some of the software. |

Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 24BIT Sound Card 7.1 PCI OEM
Cons:-Default driver settings
Pros:-Sound quality-Price-Front audio port Comment:
That sound card has a really correct sound quality, even for the audio enthousiast, its price makes it really interesting when in special, the presence of the front audio port really is useful and will save you the trouble of hacking connectors a la audigy 2, its just a pity that the default driver settings outputs a bit low sound quality and needs to be tuned up a bit. |

Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 24BIT Sound Card 7.1 PCI OEM
Cons:Bad Microphone support
Pros:Great sound, Good Price Comment:
I purchased this for a new gaming system, and it sounds great but so far has been giving me very poor microphone playback which I use a lot for online gaming. did some Research and i dont seem to be the only person with this problem. Am thinking I will need to upgrade to a X-Fi gamer. |

Creative Sound Blaster X-FI Xtreme Audio 24BIT Sound Card 7.1 PCI OEM
Cons:It's not a 'real' X-fi: it's onboard chip is a C0106 variant, apparently the same as the Audigy LS.
Pros:It provides a drastic upgrade from onboard audio. Low profile card. Sounds better than my Audigy. Comment:
For sound quality I give 4, compared to my 'xtreme Gamer'. But overall I give it 3 because it is marketed as a X-Fi and it does not have the X-fi chip onboard. It doesn't share the same set of drivers with the other X-fi. But overall it is a very good quality card, clean and impressive audio output. (I returned it and took the Xtreme Gamer instead), feeling I had been 'fooled' a little... |

This card is anything but impressive. I got it from an open box custom build system I bought during warehouse sales. This thing is literally worth $5 if not less. It is missing the basic outputs a integrated audio chipset would have. Missing the essential and basic function "Stereo Mix". The software support from Creative sucks with tons of incompatibility problems and installation issues resulting in countless hours of troubleshooting just to get it to make sound (getting it to sound good is another story). For the price it is at right now, an ASUS Xonar will beat this by a long shot and only cost 1/4 as much on sale.
