D-LINK 8-PORT 10/100MB Switch
Cons:-can't plug in modem into port 1 (doesn't work. all others works fine)
Pros:-cool looking-cheap-works-no glitches so far-auto negotiate-full duplex Comment:
It's a good cheap 8 port router that works with hassle. I already bought 2 and linked them up lol. Buy 2 or 3 and link them up instead of a 24 port box. |

D-LINK 8-PORT 10/100MB Switch
Cons:no 1000MB/snot the greatest quality
Pros:CheapDoes the job Comment:
This switch is a pretty good deal. It is on the lower end of switches but it still works for a great price. I would recommend this for small home networks only for people on a budget. |

D-LINK 8-PORT 10/100MB Switch
Cons:- Expensive, would rather buy the 1000 Mbps at that point
Pros:+ Has never crashed+ Passive cooling+ Desn't look like the given picture, it is in fact similar to every other D-Link products you may find Comment:
I bought it on sale at 28$ buy at the regular price I would rather pay the little extra and go for the 1000 mbps version.I have very good experience with D-Link network products. Where routers from Linsys, SMC, Trendnet and others would always crash after a few time of using P2P intensively, D-Link offer far more solid networking for a cheaper price. |

D-LINK 8-PORT 10/100MB Switch
Cons:None
Pros:- Great price- Extremely low packet loss at very high bandwidth Comment:
A great "bang for your buck." This device switches upwards of 10Gb a day on my network and has displayed extremely low packet loss and great speeds. Don't be fooled by the ugly picture on this page, see an accurate image on D-Link's product page (http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=70). This review was modfied by poster @ 01-24-06 12:26 PM |

D-LINK 8-PORT 10/100MB Switch
Cons:None that I can think of.
Pros:Easy setup, Good compatibility, Good price. Comment:
The actual switch looks better than the picture shown here. This switch was literally plug-and-play setup. No problems setting it up to work with my Linksys EtherFast router. No performance problems. Forget hubs, buy yourself a switch. And this one is reliable and priced very competitively. |

D-LINK 8-PORT 10/100MB Switch
Cons:Slight whirring sound
Pros:Very Cheap for 8 ports Comment:
This is a very cheap unit, especially if price matched (*nudge nudge*). I got one of these for lan parties, and I plan to get one or two more eventually. Currently it's sitting in another house in a very quiet room, and you can actually hear it make a slight whirring sound. There might be a fan inside, I haven't bothered looking into this anymore.8 ports of switchy goodness. Not enough ports to handle my main locations, but plenty of ports to support a room of lan gamers during a party!Oh yeah, and the picture is currently wrong on the ncix site. D-LINK 8-PORT 10/100MB Switch
Cons:- Not going to stand in for an expensive managed switch- Makes an annoying hissing sound
Pros:- Cheap- Does it's job Comment:
I needed a replacement for an old network hub, and I figured I'd get a switch in this price point. I even managed to pricematch to bring the cost down by more than half.My only complain is the slight noise it makes, which is completely ignorable when it's next to my loud computer. Definitely a sound purchase. |

D-LINK 8-PORT 10/100MB Switch
Cons:None.
Pros:Very easy installation and setup. Comment:
For this price, you cannot go wrong at all. The installation and setup was a breeze. I have a cable modem hooked up to this along with 2 computers. Hooked up all of the connections and it auto-detected everything. Both computers were up and running on the interent instantly. I recommend this to anybody who wants a small home network. |

D-LINK 8-PORT 10/100MB Switch
Cons:metal case, heats up a little
Pros:cheap price, plug and play Comment:
Other than linksys d-link has the market for afordable small office or home office equipment. If you don't have a lot of money and just need something to do a simple job this is perfect. Plug in your cables and your network is ready to go. You can add a broadband router and share the internet with your network, or you could get a model with a router and switch built in. Simple product for simple networks e.g. sharing internet, sharing small files, print jobs. |

D-LINK 8-PORT 10/100MB Switch
Cons:-none
Pros:-1.6 gbit backplane-Easy to take apart Comment:
Took one of these things apart and hard-modded it into the roof of my case. Kickass! It's fast and reliable even after i poked a soldering iron at it a few dozen times. Good for basic, unmanaged connection sharing (if behind a router, too) / filesharing / other local hosting services. |

D-LINK 8-PORT 10/100MB Switch
Cons:Slightly hot, LEDs could be better.
Pros:Nice appearance, cheap, large MAC table. Comment:
This is a great ethernet switch for the cost. It has a number of useful features (auto negotiation, etc). My only issues with it are... As with most D-Link products, the front LEDs could be better (too small, sometimes hard to see). And it does sometimes get a bit hot.But overall, I would for sure recommend this ethernet switch. |

D-LINK 8-PORT 10/100MB Switch
Cons:flashing lights are anoying, j/kseriously, I cannot think of any.
Pros:Cheap!! more than enough ports for the average user and very fast. Comment:
This is the best bang for your buck you can get. D-link makes good quality stuff so you can trust this product. Very easy to use; just "plug and play." Excellent backbone for a home Lan. Suits all your needs...file/internet sharing, gaming, you name it. By the way, if your are planning on using this to share a broadband connection, I would highly recommend a "Cable/DSL Router" instead which has a built in switch. |

D-LINK 8-PORT 10/100MB Switch
Cons:some people find it large(compared to other products of the same type), does not auto detect cable type(straight threw or crossover)
Pros:low price, large MAC table for SOHO use, comes with mounting hardware Comment:
The only thing I did not like too much was that the switch can not detect the cable type, other switches of the same type allow you to use crossover or straight threw on any port(more idiot proofing the switch for people who don't know much about networking). But that's not a big issue, This switch does have a uplink port. I really like this switch and would recommend it to my friends and family. |
I bought this for my team's folding farm, following a recommendation earned here in the NCIX forums. It worked good right out of the box, no problems, no delays, no headaches. It does what it's designed to do, and for that reason, I'm a happy customer.
