D-Link AirPlug G Wireless Access Point - 802.11g

Comment:
Use: To provide occasional wireless connectivity for laptops at home. Phone Support: Very poor because of all tech support people had heavy accents and they could not understand the (very simple) problem. Problem: When DWL-G700AP was connected to switch, set-up window could not be opened when ip address of DWL-G700AP was typed in per the set-up guide. Solution to problem: 1) Connect DWL-G700AP directly to router. 2) Look up ip address of DWL-G700AP 3) Open browser, type in ip address of DWL-G700AP to open set-up window.

My office is about 1000 sq. ft. and hard wired with a D-Link EBR 2310 4 port router plus 2 D-Link DSS-5+ 4 port switching hubs. I purchased this wireless access point so our reps can upload reports from their laptops without hooking up to a cat5 cable. It was a breeze to install and in a matter of minutes our secured wireless access point was up and running.

Comment:
We purchased two of these for a production enviromrent, they would lock up every week and need a reboot. I dont recommend these and dlink has issued a end of service life on them as well.

Could not believe the simplicity in getting this device set up and working. Configured it and away it went. Plugged into a hub with no problems.

I had some problems during initial setup. I connected it to a switch and it would not work properly and all the other computers on that switch had problems getting online. Once I connected it directly to a wall outlet, it worked great. The wizard makes it easy to setup. All my laptops connected with no problems.

Typical D-Link product, simple to use and work great.

Received the access point in three days. Set-up was a snap including security features. Range seemes very good. This unit replaced a range extender that failed after about 2 years of service. Very pleased with entire transaction

Works like a champ so far! Easy set up once I had my new wireless card working.

Works good. Good range. I have had to reboot this device only a few times in the last year which is acceptable to me...
