Never have problem with that adapter for 4 year. Easy to install don't need any driver for Vista,xp or Windows 7

I have had this running in a computer running Vista64 with a phenom processor. It complements my onboard gigabit nicely as my computer is attached to two different networks. I tried several 10/100 PCI cards but none had compatible drivers.

Easy to install and very simple. Can't really say much more about a network card. It does the job that its meant to do.

This card works perfectly with linux. Just plug it in, boot the computer and voilà! the card is automatically configured. I can't say if it is faster or slower than other 1Gbps cards but on my network it is a big difference over 100Mbps.

I purchased this D-LINK DGE-530T Gigaexpress 10/100/1000MBPS RJ-45 32BIT PCI Network Card along with the D-LINK DGS-1005D 5 Port 10/100/1000 BASE-T Unmanaged Gigabit Switch as a bundle for a real sweet deal a couple weeks back and it does exactly what it says it does. I haven't been able to see any difference on the power consumption as of yet, but the transfer speeds is was what I was looking for.

Cheap NIC if you want to transfer files between computers.If you have a router make sure it 1000MBPS rated for the best speed.

Solid Performing NIC for older systems that you want to bump up to GIG. Using this nic for an older media server to stream between it and my PS3. Price point is a factor, you'll only be able to go so fast on older systems, I was looking for a solid performing yet cheap card I could throw in a box that if I turn it off 6 months from now I won't sweat the $30

Installed on a new Ubuntu 6.10 server (low end, ASROCK board) with a non-raid configuration and was able to run 260 Mbps which is respectable considering the hardware. I think my WD 500 sata is the new bottleneck. Ubuntu was able to pick up the card right away, install cd was not required. Good first impressions.

Bought this to replace the dead onboard lan.According to normal duty it's good and just get the job done.Giga speed is necessary for today's huge file transfer.Anyway,it's cheap enough.

When transferring a file, this card uses 100% of my Athlon XP 2800+ CPU, and it uses almost 40% of my Core 2 Duo e6300 CPU. I really noticed this when the transfer speed dropped while I was working on the Athlon computer. I don't suggest this card if you want to do high speed transfers and high CPU applications at the same time.I read this review to situate this card between the popular Intel Pro 1000 series, and the Linksys EG1032: http://redmondmag.com/features/article.asp?EditorialsID=311It looks like the summary of the three cards is this: The Intel is high performance and high CPU usage.The Linksys is lower performance and lowest CPU usage.The D-link is lower performance and high CPU usage.As of this writing, the Linksys is about $10 more than the D-link, and the Intel is about $10 more on top of that. So in the future, I would buy the Linksys for older machines, and the Intel for very fast new ones. The D-link unfortunately doesn't find a place in that lineup.The verdict: I don't recommend this card. I recommend spending a bit more money for faster speed and/or less CPU utilization.

This is a nice little NIC for the price and it is easy to install. A nice thing about it is it comes with the bracket for a 1U server case, although for anything other than a file server or ftp server, I am not sure this card is the best solution, one of the intel NIC's would be a better choice if you have the funds for it.As for installation of the drivers, I have had no issues, the whole procedure went through rather smoothly which says a lot for me as the last D-Link NIC (DFE-530TX) I installed was on an older win98 box and the drivers installation was a fight from the start to finish.This is a great card for a home network enthusiast who wants to setup a gigabit network on a budget.

great if you want to setup a older computer on a 1000mbps network. I have noticed a improvement now that my entire network is all at the same speed. I recommend this product for that use.

I bought this card to use in my server as an inexpensive way to get gigabit speeds. It never worked in the server.. I'm not sure if it's a problem with the older computer, or if it's just a cheap card that has compatibility issues to begin with.Regardless, I've never had another place to use it. So it's been sitting in my parts bin since I bought it pretty much. I'm sure I'll find a place for it someday and be able to try it out.So if you're planning on buying this card to use in an older computer, do some research first!Thanks for reading.

This gets a high review for technical merits, but I'm only giving three stars since I will not purchase again.My reasons for buying were that the system I was installing the card into has had issues with the Intel cards I have, so I needed to try another model - a cheaper model, I hoped.System runs Solaris, installing the SKGE drivers and adding the pci id worked fine. I'm happy with the card and the driver, but this is hopefully my last purchase from D-Link, as I can not stand a company who has the nerve to take work and not follow the license agreements."We are big, we don't have to follow instructions - even when the courts rule we have to."

Setting top speeds and jumbo frames at 4088 works great all around for games and internet use. Great value for the money paid.

In the sumary below, all three cards were tested using the stock drivers, then with the most up to date D-Link drivers.-----------------------Initially I was satisfied with this card, having one in my main system (XP Pro) as it worked fine. Because it seemed to be working flawlessly, I bought one for my server (running Server 2003 R2) and one for my HTPC (running MCE). I get file transfers through my gigabit switch between my main system and my server fine ( although not as fast as I thought it would be). However, in my HTPC, it doesn't recognize that a cable is even present, and have to use the backup NIC (10/100) that's present. I don't have a monitor always plugged into my server, so I VNC into it. This lets me control my server for anywhere from 5 seconds to 5 minutes before the NIC craters. I have to hook a monitor up to disable then enable the card to get it working (repairing the connection doesn't do a thing).When I VNC into my main system, the card is fine, so long as I do not move the mouse when the screen is polling. If I do, the connection is dropped and I have to re-VNC in again (which is not as bad as having to visit the machine physically).I've done a ton of research on the problem and came across similar problems. Installs Linux driver with no problems using the install.sh script on the CD. There's also a FreeBSD directory on the disc; haven't tried it yet though.

A great add-on for gaming and lan parties. Not much to say about the product, its cheap, its easy to install and LAN parties are more fun with out lag.

Awesome Gigabit network card that supports jumbo frames. Note that for large file transfers, your speed is most likely to be limited by your hard drive (~130 Mbps) instead of the network. Very good performance for gaming.
