D-Link DWA-140 USB 2.0/1.1 Wireless RangeBooster N Adapter
Cons: big

Pros: adapter includedon saleconnects no problem so far. fairly fast
Comment:
The built in wireless for my laptop was acting weirdly so i decided to give this a try. This is a fairly good product although now i have a BIG usb sticking out at the side. Thats ok considering i dont move this around the house much.

Great wireless adapter
Comment:
Great wireless adapter. I get between 130mbs and 300mbs with it. I love the USB cable and stand for it. I am using it on a desktop and it would have to hide behind the chassis if all I could do is plug it into a usb socket. The cable and stand allows me to set it on top and move it around a little to find a faster speed.

Great Price, Works Well
Comment:
I bought this adapter for an old laptop and it works well although not as well as I thought it would. I think all the concrete walls are interfering in the signal. Great price though and I recommend it to anyone.

I purchased this adapter to hook up to my media player. It connected to my network and I can stream movies from my PC without issue. No problems with the unit so far. It's been going for about 1 month now.

Works great once it is set up
Comment:
I bought this adapter and the matching router together. The adapter would not allow access to the internet. It took 3 calls to D-Link support and 2 hours of repaeting what I had already done before I found someone who had me change a few router settings. Once that was done it has worked flawlessly and very fast now for a month. When you buy 2 compatible products they ought to work together out of the box. D-Link support was weak on fixing this.

Exactly what I expected
Comment:
Works well with my brand new Dell quad running XP. The device is a bit directional but with the extension USB cord provided, I can point or direct the adapter to a best reception direction on my second floor toward my LinkSys wireless router in the basement. Installed easily and quickly. Good adapter for the price. Highly recommended

D-Link DWA-140 USB 2.0/1.1 Wireless RangeBooster N Adapter
Cons:Rangebooster isn't so great.

Pros:Good range, easy to setup, stylish
Comment:
I got this to replace my laptop's PCI Rangebooster G card and I'm pretty happy with it. It comes with a nifty stand that you can plug the adapter into which is a nice touch. I'm using it on a wireless G network and am getting a pretty good reception. I'm looking forward to testing it on wireless N soon. Compared to my laptop's Rangebooster adapter, I'm not as pleased with this USB one, but it still does a good job.

Works very well with my DLINK DGL 4300 router. Windows 7 already has the drivers so you don't need the installation CD. Recommended adapter

So far so good with D-Link
Comment:
Purchased this with the D-Link Xtreme N Duo Wrls Bridge/Access Point for my office when my Linksys access point died. Works great in an older Dell Dimension computer. Much easier to set up and use than the Linksys.

This product worked very well with my old Sony laptop, installation was very easy, and once installed it worked flawlessly. Great value if you need to connect an older type laptop to a home or work network.

Works well with USB extension cable
Comment:
I bought this to provide reception for a computer at the other end of the house from my wireless router. (About 50 feet away.) When plugged directly into the USB port on the computer, it didn't pick up the signal very well, even with the extension cord provided (about 4' long). So I got a 16' active USB extension cable and placed the adapter closer to the router. Now it works fine--I get two bars on the signal, which is good enough for my purposes.

D-Link DWA-140 USB 2.0/1.1 Wireless RangeBooster N Adapter
Comment:
These DWA-140's and 160s are okay for Windows XP, however, currently, you will not get the same performance out of them on a Vista. They will work, but they wont work as stable. They are fine surfing the internet, however gaming on them WiFi is not working out for me. I get constantly dropped during gaming. My 802.11G adapter is more stable on my Vista and I don't get dropped when using it. I still buy the D-link DWA-140 and 160's because I am assuming they will come out with more stable drivers for Vista in the near future. Candle

D-Link DWA-140 USB 2.0/1.1 Wireless RangeBooster N Adapter
Comment:
This adapter sucks with Vista. The Vista drivers D-Link provides via their website didn't work for me either, even after a fresh install... internet consensus agrees with me. If you've got XP you'll probably do fine, but if you're running vista, don't waste your time!

yep!it's great little adapter.I used on my pent/3 Gateway 9300 solo/Notebook at 450mhz.It runs much faster than I anticipated on 1.1 USB.I Picked up connection more than a hundred feet away.1mbps-2mbps up to 12mbps in apt.I went to the wi-fi location and sat inside drinkin a peach tea,it was 54mbps on 1.1USB solo9300 Gateway at 450mhz.It has no reception problem.I must say using verizon DSL,I got all my internet TV Stations etc, shockwave games came in great.Home xp sp2 switched real fast and smooth, there was a improvement. This adapter works great on slower older computors. ON MY asus desktop at 3.6ghz it worked totally excellant on 2.0 USB.At more than a hundred feet away indoors from a connection.Had no problem with any internet Tv Station.I have had more than 54mbps,and im looking for 300mbps.Yep! it's worth the price, and the simplest of installations.Dennis M Mccullough of Washington Pa.
