Quite low profile. 1 of the couple of coolers that would match 1U server case Poor overall performance. Xeon 3450 operating 8 threads of prime95 heats up to 80'C with fan operating at about 90% speed. I discover this unacceptable. I have a intel I-7 860, they tend to run on the warmer side. With the stock Intel CPU fan I would get up to mid 50's at rest. With this unit I am staying in the upper 30's ྴ degree drop!). Looks good. Didn't come with ANY instructions on how to mount the brackets...and couldn't locate such instructions anyplace on the web. I'm not going to take a wild guess on how to place the brackets on a brand new motherboard, with a brand new cpu....ended up utilizing the stock intel cooler that came with my i5 chip. How terrible that the business didn't include things like instructions....

This cooler runs properly and dropped my idle temps from 40-44C to about 34-36C. Virtually silent even though idling. Low-cost and low profile. No instructions were included, took me a though to figure out how the brackets went in (CPU chassis was blocking the brackets from going in, it takes a although of moving them back and forth just before it slides in.)The fan becomes quite loud when the program is running a lot of stuff/overclocking. I overclocked my i5 from two.66 to 3. and the fan was running 100% all the time, I had to take it down to two.8. Superior if your on a tight budget, but if you can afford the added ุ, and your case is massive adequate, go for one particular of the 120mm setups.

low profilefantastic mounting method none I bought this CPU cooler to cool a core i5-650 inside of a quite tiny case that has quite small headroom (converted Shuttle KPC). This cooler is probably the lowest profile anyone makes for the Core i CPUs.. I didn't expect significantly but it really functions rather well.. I have my i5-650 mildly overclocked to 3.5GHZ and it keeps idle temps in the high 20's C.. highest temp's I've observed are in the low 50's C which is excellent..if the fan is on 100% it sounds like a jet plane taking off but the temps drop a different 10C!I didn't bother putting on any artic silver mainly because i was lazy but the stock thermal grease already on the cooler seemed to work properly..

Excellent size for 1u server chassis installation. Side vented fan so output can be directed to the back of the chassis with case airflow. None Incredibly big square heat sink. appear at the layout of your MB, if there are tall capacitors or resistors near the CPU you may have an issue with clearance. With this fan cinched all the way down the heat sink touches the tops of a few capacitors on my board. No concern for me, but be aware.

Uncomplicated install (peel the backing off of the brackets, stick 'em on and screw the fan on)Side-blowing, so one can direct the airflow out of the case whatever way but up. A bit loud, specifically when it ramps up. Fortunately the HTPC I mounted it on doesn't get that warm frequently. A decent option for those seeking for a low-prifile cooler for those 1U or SFF cases. If you have a top vent in your case, don't be afraid to attempt to sound-proof it a bit to cut the noise, since the cooler vents out the back anyway.
