Cons:-Quickly replaced by smaller and better designed models-CULV laptops have much better battery life with more power-Keyboard could use a full sized right shift key-Mouse pad buttons extend out onto the front of the laptop and it makes them more vulnerable to being pressed unintentionally.
Pros:-Great amount of battery life for the size-Great for school-Compatible with Windows 7-Durable |

Got this netbook for school since my Macbook was simply way to heavy to lug around all day with all of my books and I'm in computer programming and most programs only work with Windows.Awesome little machine, I was looking for mainly a fairly big keyboard, an excellent battery life and a netbook that could easily be upgraded without voiding the warranty.It's only weak point is probably it's weight being one of the heaviest netbooks out there, but still much lighter then a notebook.I installed a SSD in there with 2GB of ram and Windows 7, runs like a charm, excellent machine! Came with lot's of goodies also in the box! |
I bought this for school, but when I did it was still a few months before I had actually started. Around summer, before school, the 1005 models were released which quickly made my 1000HE look much older. Anyways the battery tends to get my through half of my school day on full brightness, etc. However, it doesn't last a full 9 hours unless the performance and brightness are turned down.It is certainly durable. I have dropped this from a couple of feet onto hard pavement. There were some scratches and the hinge seems to have popped out a bit but there were no cracks or any damage the hardware.Great for a school environment.
