I needed an upgrade from my AMD setup (Athlon II x4 940) - I planned on yet another AMD upgrade, till I priced Intel elements. I am a convert!Board installation was a breeze. I am so impressed with the performance gains and performance in common (with no OC required!) that I tell every person about this.I coupled this to an i7 950, 12GB of Patriot RAM, a Patriot TorX 64GB SSD (boot) and 3 GB (total) of data space with an EVGA GTX 480 to do the graphics function. This is the method I have always wanted. In fact, 1 day I was concerned that I was only obtaining about 60 frames/sec in a game only to learn the cause was an open virtual Windows server (using 4 cores and 4GB of RAM!!) - and still I was getting 60 frames/sec in the game! I was absolutely speechless. It practically tripled my Vantage benchmark score!USB three., SATA 6 and all the bells and whistles It didn't set up iself. I extremely advise this board to everyone seeking to get into an X58 based i7 process. The price tag is suitable and the BIOS supports up to (and consists of, I believe) all present 1366 socket based hexacore processors (I know it covers the 980X, but I think it also handles the 990X).EVGAs tech assistance, warranties and step-up programs are second to none in the organization. Other individuals have unique functions, but in my opinion, you can do no much better than EVGA for your MB and video card requirements.

-Sata 6GǙG-USB 3.-Other EVGA goodies -No IDE connector, but thats my fault for not keeping up with the times on CD/DVD drives Amazingly fast board. Be cautious with voltages if you OC with it though, it had my RAM a bit greater than it ought to have been, etc. Other than that I have nothing but wonderful experiences with this board. Extremely low-cost for all you get, a have to obtain!

This board makes it considerably much easier to overclock than my orginal Intel board, significantly a lot more area(atleast it feels that way) and greater layout of board componets. No issue to date. It also has a temperature gauge on the board reading the CPU temp. Temperature gauge is at the bottom of the board and pending on how you spot factors you may possibly not be able to see it. Less costly than a comparable intel board, much better layout and simple overclocking and good cost.

Board functions great - no challenge, straightforward set up. Bought on 9ǜ immediately after I figured my new FlamingBlade is not supporting Xeon E5620. With Noctua NH-D14 and 32nm CPU program runs "frosty" cool and quiet. I'm not a gamer so no extremes right here. Future is not so bright about my project - I was planing to have 3x gtx460sc + KillerXeno Pro on 1x PCI-E. There is no way you can fit all of them - so I 'll require to go with 2xGTX460sc's only - can't loose killer pro - too critical. This board (EVGA), GTX460sc (EVGA), Noctua NH-D14, Antec 1200 complete tower, G.Skill PhoenixPro 60GB SSD, Crucial Ballistix 6Gigs Ɠx2) 1600, 750w Antec, Logitech K800, Xeon E5620 ƒ.4Ghz - running at three.4Ghz - I;m not considering myself OC enthusiast), Xeno Killer Pro (EVGA), 2x Samsung 2343 񢊀x1152).

quality board for 200$. this was the second personal computer that i have ever built and this was uncomplicated to setup. functions good with corsair dominator 6gb 1600 ram and sparkle gtx 480. The board looks really great too. recognized everthing 1st time i fired it up. Honestly I think it's fantastic if you're not an expert computer builder. Quite user friendly, not that developing a pc is that hard. 8 pin power connection on motherboard is a small to low and was a small challenging to get the cable to it with an a70 heatsink, but still managed to get it there. i7 950 oc'd to 3.8sparkle gtx 4806 gb corsair dominator sparkle 1250w pstwo 500gb wd black raid soon ssd when cost comes downand one more gtx 480 for sli

Effortless installReset BIOS button3-PIN fan connectors NONE Only annoyance with the mobo was the fact that it doesnt come with DVD/CD-ROM connector, but apparently most high finish mobos dont do that anymore... Weird, i would much rather favor an internal drive than an external one. I didnt knock any eggs off because apparently its prevalent understanding to every person but me, but i would still have liked to have the selection of having my drive internal

Very good develop excellent. CPU temp readout on the principal board and tuning software are a plus. Add in subsequent generation USB 3 and SATA 3ǜ GB plus DDR3 triple channel memory and that makes a compelling case to upgrade employing this board. My construct went off without having a hitch with a profitable POST on the 1st attempt. Windows 7 installed all of the right drivers automatically. Overall this is a capable X58 major board with a great function set and if you can live with a couple of quirks there is no reason not to be content. Quirky BIOS, sub-normal audio performance and a reference manual that lacks detail detract from this otherwise decent product providing. Poor placement of fan and USB pin headers. This board has a 4-pin CPU fan header but only delivers three-pin fan headers for the remainder of the case fans which complex my construct as I use a high volume PWM case fan for my Corsair H50 CPU cooler. I am impressed with the EVGA create high quality, packaging and installation instructions. The Phoenix Award/BIOS goes via all sorts of gyrations throughout POST which appears unnecessary to me and there is no way to configure a rapid POST. I had to go in and tweak the BIOS to get the CPU and memory running at rated speeds. I expected to have to set the XMP memory profile but was surprised to come across that the board under clocked the i7-950 CPU at two.66 GHz out of the box. I had to manually bump up the CPU Clock Ratio from 20x to 23x to bring the CPU up its rated 3.06 GHz speed. I ran a series of disk benchmarks with HD Tune Pro and the SATA performance numbers were not as very good as the equivalent Intel X58 board. Not negative, just not as excellent. Incredibly properly laid out motherboard. The on-board controls, LED indicators and digital readout are handy. I didn't acquire it for the three-way SLI but that is cool as nicely. I was impressed. Only 2 SATA cables included with the motherboard. The socket for the CPU is Really high in the moterboard compared to other people I have employed. (closer to the top edge). If you will use a aftermarket cooler, be conscious it will sit high in your case. Mine virtually touches the fan in the top of the case.In the course of POST, the "Cont+M" to enter the RAID BIOS flashes by too darned fast. RAID isn't even covered in the Manual. Was tricky to figure out how to get into it. This is a extremely nice motherboard. I am normally a devoted ASUS user and I wasn't expecting considerably from this motherboard. The Phoenix BIOS is uncomplicated compared to the AMI BIOS discovered in ASUS boards. The create was quick and clean. Every thing mounted properly and the lay out worked superior. I mentioned the location of the CPU socket simply because this could possibly be a actual problem for someone, fortunately it worked out for me OK. I was pleasently suprised by the ease of create and rock solid stability from this board. I would extremely advocate it. Am I a convert from ASUS? Nicely maybe not, but I would not hessitate to use 1 once again.

The board does what it says to an extent. I can run anything I bought to use on the board with no problems. It runs it like a charm. Most important issue, Every thing IS UNDER CLOCKED. I don't dare mess with the clocking because I don't want to ruin the board. Please don't say "load defaults" I did this and Absolutely nothing changed.

Worked upon initially boot. All parts ran as advertised (after some tweaking). Superior layout overall, I don't like the SATA ports but not a con. I deemed this board to be an overclocking board. Maybe I was incorrect as when you boot it up the very first time all parts are below-clocked. I realize why they do this, but it' just annoying to have to go back into the BIOS to set all of the elements to run at their advertised speed.North bridge runs a small hot, but not surprised. Runs together perfectly with these other parts.Intel Core i7-950 Bloomfield 3.06GHz Quad-CoreCORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB Ɠ x 2GB) DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)EVGA GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5CORSAIR HX Series CMPSU-650HX 650W Manufacturer Response:Hi,Please try going into the BIOS and select load defaults, this really should bring up all the default values for each and every component. Thanks,Jacob

- Fantastic searching board- SLI & Crossfire support- Energy, reset, and cmos reset buttons on board- CPU code and temp LED- USB three. x2- External CMOS reset button- Tons of memory support- three-way SLI (if you want it)- SATA ports point forward (great for cable management)I did not encounter any of the issues posted by other individuals, and am overall extremely pleased with the board upon two installs. Will have to speak for stability after some time has passed, but I recommend this board so far. - SATA ports point forward (may be an issue for some) To the individual who was not able to come across the frontal audio pinouts, they are situated at the rear of the board next to the second PCI express slot. To the individuals who had trouble on boot and/or with flashing bios, I purchased two of these boards to rebuild by my wife's and my own systems and was able to boot them both the first time with my own i7 and a single stick of DDR3 - 1600. The bios update was just about 1 of the smoothest I have encountered as well. I can not speak of any BSODs given that this did not occur for me at all on either board, but there is no reason you must not update the bios anyhow. The CPU sits high on the board as is mentioned by yet another user, nonetheless, I did not uncover this to be any higher than the two boards I replaced, 1 getting Gigabyte and the other Asus. The northbridge also sits a bit further from the CPU than I was utilised to, which did nothing but give much more clearance for soon after marketplace cooling.

Auxiliary power and reset buttons on board. Two-digit LED diagnostic readout for POST and temperature. Super stable. Not a single problem given that install. Nice Windows-based utility for controlling voltages and some clocks although in Windows. EVGA good quality. Marvell SATA 3 6Gbps controller has performance issues. I'm sticking with the Intel controller for the time being. Not sufficient to subtract an egg for. I bought a Corsair 6GB DDR3-1333 triple channel kit Ɨ-7-7-20) for use with the board. Booted up, entered BIOS setup and selected the XMP Profile 1 (the only one listed for this kit), set the voltage to 1.65V and was up and running at 1333 7-7-7-20 as advertised. Several, quite a few manual settings for those so inclined in BIOS.

I have this coupled with an i7 920 and evga gts280. Very stable, no problem with small overclocks (haven't tried pushing it). The video card partially covers another pci slot, so i would have to use the one at the end. evga is a really good brand.
