EVGA 401-EV-1234-01 Backplate for GTX 295
Cons:You do need a very small watch maker type screwdriver or pay a serviceman $$ to intall it. It should have been included.
Pros:It may help with cooling of this video card a bit. It also protects the back of the video card. Comment:
I installed this backplate before I even used this card so I can't compare the cooling with before and after. As for looks, I do have a window but I can't see it; so don't buy it for looks. |

EVGA 401-EV-1234-01 Backplate for GTX 295
Cons:Installation requires tiny screw driver which I almost failed to findShould've been included in the original packageNot as cool as it looks
Pros:Looks goodMight make the card cooler Comment:
It is for the looks. Even though you don't look at your video card very often.I didn't see a 10 degrees temperature drop as reported on the eVGA forum. It might be 1~3 degrees, and it certainly allows the card to cool down faster when the load is off. Anyway, I didn't look very carefully and my case is cramped, so the claim may still be true. All in all, if you have the launch version of GTX 295, get this. |
I bought this only because it was offered at a reduced price with the GTX295 at the time.Really for the price of the GPU it should be included.Did it make any difference in monitored temps, not that I saw, but them again it not mounted on the side of the GPU with the sensors, it was designed to help cool the back side of the GPU.Really hard to gage if it is or insn't.It looks Good lol
