Don't buy
Comment:
I've had two out of 3 Engenius wireless routers fail. One dropped wired connections, the other failed on both wireless and wired connections.

It works for me.
Comment:
I found this router to be quite typical in setup. Some users reported problems with it, but I had none -- if you understand routewrs, this is nothing difficult. Range was good, but I put a better (add-on) antenna on it and that made it quite good. The weakness was receiving, not sending power. If you need a really long range router, Engenius makes them, and you'll pay a bit more. But not that much.

One of the Best Routers
Comment:
I have purchased 3 of this model and one generation before. The coverage is excellent in 3 out of 4 location, 4 location was a building with multiple interior concrete walls have never had to reset the router like previous brands. Definitely a great buy for someone looking for a router with large coverage that takes up a small footprint.

Its True-Be Afraid
Comment:
Steer clear of this router. Bought it for a customer who needed to span a large area. First off, the router had worse coverage than the netgear I bought at Walmart for a replacement. This wasn't a huge problem as she planned to move it soon anyway. Then, it started dropping hardwired connections. That's when I replaced it. On top of all that, the setup is without a doubt the worst I have ever dealt with. Set it up at my home to avoid being there too long, and it took over two hours to adjust every setting and try and figure it out. Finally, it just decided to work. Got it to her house, and had to do the whole thing again. Netgear isn't my favorite router, but it setup in 5 minutes and worked the first time with better coverage. Buyers beware.

Be afraid, be very afraid

First of all if you are in Quebec and are a cable client, buy a higher end product from this maker because for some strange reason this unit is incompatible with certain cable modems. Three different 1221s at three different locations had the exact same problem and tech support (USA) admitted that this was possible but then told me that I was on my own with this since they made no guarantees that their products would 100% compatible with every ISP. Secondly, of the three units purchased two had wifi units that died after a few weeks. I managed to have one replaced because I was in my 30 day grace period. The other ended up in the recycling bin because it died after 60 days and we did not keep the original packaging. The third one was traded in for a higher end unit. I find it disappointing that they do not appear to have the same quality standards for their lower end home products as they do for their high end pro products.
