Great but somewhat cheap quality. I've had it for just about over a year and the USB input physically detached from the board within the Engenius plastic enclosure! Make sure the connected cable does not exert any stress on the input. If using xp, only install the driver and not the software. I got the 7db d-link antenna, a usb converter(small to big) from The Source and a usb extension cable. You will not see ANY gains with an antenna with more db. The improvement with more db is limited to sending the signal, but no extra gain for receiving which is what the Engenius adapter does. It optimizes downloads because it allows you to aim to where the signal is strongest, if not more import. it is fully stationary (doesn't move like a laptop) which effects downloads, and it takes full advantage of the limits of db for receiving the signal where a laptop does not necessarily succeed. It increases connection stability not signal bars. For that you need a better wireless router. |

Works great! After two years of listening to my wife complaining about the dropouts from the Linksys adapter she had been using, I went ahead and purchased the Engenius unit. The instructions were clear and everything worked as advertised. I used to have the Linksys unit stuck to the side of a nearby window to get a decent signal and it still suffered dropouts. This device seemed to work just fine wherever I put it. The client software is also much more useful and informative than the Linksys version also. Highly Recommended! |

this product is for advanced users only, the drivers may or may not need to be updated based on ur system, I bought this same product off an Iraqi while deployed in Iraq, it worked better than any of the other computer solutions that any one else in my base could come up with. saddly i paid $120 for it and then learned about tiger, thanks tiger for supporting advanced users and soldiers world wide! |

Engenius Vs Linksys wusbgsv2 using Network Stumbler. The Linksys was constantly dropping the wireless signal. I bought the Engenius since it can use an external antenna. I was expecting about the same results as the Linksys drop single rate, however the Engenius did drop the signal but not as often as the Linksys. When using the Stock antenna that came with Engenius, Network Stumbler showed an improvement signal reception over the linksys. When an external antenna was used, the Network Stumbler show a much improved signal reception. The drop signal is no a thing of the past. |

This product being higher power actually overdrives the wireless router making it ineffective. I've learned that higher power USB devices are a bad idea. Also, it uses huge amount of electrical power from the PC's USB port. High power next to me the user is likely a bad health risk also. Best to buy a less powerful device. |

This adapter has been nothing but a nightmare since I purchased it. The drivers are out of date, and had conflict with my system. The ''latest'' drivers on the webpage are not the latest at all. The adapter is actually made by Antheros, and downloading their drivers helped a bit. This device still suffers from ''incredible shrinking signals'' where the signal will start at ''very good'' and slowly degrade to ''no signal''. Getting the signal back involves an esoteric combination of unplugging, replugging, repairing, and rebooting until it comes back... for a bit. I am shopping for a replacement. Steer clear of this adapter. |

This thing is AWESOME! Before I could only see 3 wireless networks and my pcmcia card dropped out all the time. Now I have an uninterrupted, fast connection and I can see 23 wireless networks in my neighborhood! I got some velcro and mounted this thing on the back of my laptop screen and it LOOKS awesome as well. The USB cable is a little bit long though so I swapped it with a shorter one so now its just long enough to reach my laptop's usb port from its mounting position on the top right corner of my screen. GREAT PRODUCT THANK YOU TIGERDIRECT! |

CARL D. Jan 02 2009 If you're running WINDOWS VISTA THIS PRODUCT IS NOT FOR YOU. i did buy it to resolve a LOW SIGNAL problem i had with a Belkin 54G adapter. Installed it and had even a worst signal strenght. The Vista driver only support 802.11b at 12 Mbps. My son with an XP Box tried it an is enjoying BLAZING SPEED in a room where the BK 54g could'nt even see the router. Good Product & Bad software = loosing team
