RUN AWAY don't walk from this Unit
Comment:
Bought this unit 16 months ago has worked great, easy to set up. Drive and power supply have now failed. Cutomer Service Support from manufacturer is ZERO. So now have a 4 pound paper weight. If you need something for temp use it might be ok but not something you want to depend on for the long haul. |

No problems setting up, works like a champ
Comment:
This was the first time I'd setup and used a NAS device, but the setup was fairly easy and quick to navigate through. So far we haven't had any problems with it, and it's seeing some heavy usage. |

Beware
Comment:
I have had nothing but problems with this unit since I purchased it. It has an impressive set of specs for the price. But they do not all function as advertised. The iTunes server uses open source software (Firefly) that is no longer supported by the author. Firefly does not support "illegal" characters in the meta data. Hence it leaves the iTunes server pretty much useless. One of the USB ports doesn't function due to a firmware issue. The print server works but not all USB printers will work with this unit, even the ones that do work may not function as expected because of driver issues. My HP Laserjet 1200 will print one copy of a document at a time no matter how many you select. Customer support is very poor, the "techs" do not listen, seem unable to follow simple instructions, and are disrespectful. Micronet/Fantom Drives is aware of all of the above but have not released any "fixes" as of yet. |
Unless you want to lose all your data do not buy this NAS. It will work for a short time until it decides its time for all your data to be lost forever.
