Fantom 1TB 3.5" GreenDrive External Hard Drive

I bought a Fantom external hard drive years ago, it was only 75GB back then, and today that product still holds very well. Recently, i bought a 1TB and obsolutely love it so far.

Easy to move between various computers for data transfer. I use two for data files archive and a backup and two more for install files archive and also again a backup. Backup is slow as a drive reports up to 5 years to complete even on a 3200 computer.

I've been using this external drive about 30 days at this point. I have not had any issues. Set up and connection was a snap, Windows 7 picked it right up and we were off and running.

Had this for about a month and it is a great drive. Easy to format, love the design, just the right size and after downloading a huge photo and music library it still has room. Does not overheat and very quiet. Great for the environmental and the service was terrific. I called asked a lot of questions and they were very helpful. I will definitely buy from them again.

I've had it over 3 weeks now. Used it hard the first few days as I first tested it, then backed up my internal disks to it several different ways (including one which I wrote to DVDs) and then restored from it as I reconfigured my internal disks. Since I'm mainly just using it for regular backup. It is very quiet, but I can here it spin down after a period of non-use and spin up when it is needed. I am just using USB connection since my computer predates invention of eSATA.

Had problem with USB cable. Cable is very thin wire. When transferring large amounts of data it took forever. Changed to a heavier gauge wire on the problem went away. Notified technical service and they sent a new cord. So for now all is well.

I've bought a few of these over the years and built a few as well. They tend to fail due to overheating or just poor workmanship of the electronics. I've had the it for about 6 months now, and its excellent. I've used it both with USB and E-SATA. Its cool, quiet, performs well and most importantly hasn't failed. My only lacking desirable feature is some sort of suspended

This drive is awesome; quiet & fast. The best feature is it powers down which not only shrinks your power bill but also extends the life of the drive and therefore the integrity of your precious data. Highly recommended!

I have had at least 6 external hard drives and this one is by far the best. The USB and eSATA connections make it easy to connect many different computers and transfer or backup files. What I really like is that it has no fan. The Hard Drive is quiet and even after hours of use, it does not get hot, only slightly warm. I did notice that it took me 8 hours to reformat the drive from FAT32 to NTFS using Windows XP SP3 and a USB connection. I followed the directions in the users manual which said it might take a while, but it took slightly longer. But after it was formatted everything worked great!

The drive runs very quietly and has lots of storage space. I have had it a month and had no problems at all.

The drive is silent, runs cool, and performs excellently. One of my hard drives is getting cranky with intermittent write errors so I wanted something to offload everything fast and easy before disaster strikes. I connected to a USB 2.0 port, formatted the drive for NTFS and moved 200 gig of data.

Plenty of space, sleek design. Only problem, I am having trouble getting it to recognize using the eSATA on Windows 7 Pro 64bit. USB works fine, and I have eSATA turned on in the BIOS of my ASUS Rampage II Extreme MOBO... IDK Either way in my humble opinion it seems to be a great drive, now lets see if it stands the test of time.
