Price for 1TB of storage is very nice. Although you have to purchase the e-sata cable seperate it is well worth the additional cost to get the additional transfer speeds. USB 2.0 cable comes with it and still has a decent transfer speed. Solid design with metal case gives it a well built feel and appearance. Very quiet. I would buy another one.

Bought this for the eSATA feature($124). Excellent transfer speed using the eSATA cable. The eSATA cable is not included (duh). Primarily used for media storage, hooked on to WDTV MP. Runs cool, but heard a few clicking sounds lately (now, thats scary).

This is awesome. 1TB for $124. Has esata port and usb2. Esata is so much faster. I leave it on all the time because i heard that cycling it on and off will wear down drive. Is very quiet and not hot at all. Unlike wd passports, it has to be plugged in to wall for power but no biggie. Would be better if it came with an esata adapter plate for back of computer but bought one for $10 and was easy to hook up. Always fast shipping, maybe 2 or 3 days thats all. Just remember to buy an esata(external) cable not a sata cable to connect to your computer. I didn't know there was a difference. Awesome.

I've owned one of these for a year now and have never had any problem of any kind. This unit keeps the drive cool enough to operate all the time. Perfect way to back up or use for extra storage. I did take it apart to see what it was made of and was greatly pleased to see it containted a Western Digital hard drive.

The product was easy to use however I purchased it because of the esata feature which would not work with the esata port on my laptop. The 2.0 port was recognized however obviously it was not as fast as I had hoped.

I have been using a one terabyte (1000 Gigs !) "green drive" by Fantom drives. Sleek, all aluminum, no lead, uses less energy than previous drives, and has a very very convenient off/on flip switch on the back of the housing... so you just turn it on when you want to write to it, then turn it back off easily... I ordered from this site for $109.99 and have been using it about 3 months now without any trouble whatsoever. It comes already formatted with FAT32 filesystem which works well with windows, but it can be formatted to any filesystem you like... I am using mine as a linux drive with the ext3 filesystem... if you are using Windows XP you may want to format to NTFS. I just wanted to recommend this drive, as it's good and it's quite cheap for the enormous capacity it offers. It comes with USB 2 cord and power supply, ready to go... This is ACTUALLY my 2nd Phantom Green 1TB drive... I can store lots of movies... Bill Wiseman

Great Product! Love the look and size of the the drive and runs very quiet don't even know it's there. Reformatted drive to NTFS and let it run over night, it takes a while remember it's 1TB. My first time ordering I was impressed with the quick delivery and great service, will order from them again.

Installed on Vista flawlessly. Ran very smooth, and quiet. Transfer speed was great considering I pushed 160GB+ into it the first time I used it. I have had no problems with it so far, and surely would recommend to anyone that needs to back up media.

I Purchased this product for storage of multiple computers. I have stored over 100 full albums and a multitude of pictures and documents and it has barely used a sliver of the 1TB. It very well excedes the expectations I had for it. It did take a while to format, I started mine then whent to bed, it was finished by the time I got up the next morning. In my opinion it is worth the price and the time it takes to set up.

Bought it to add to PVR. It does not seem to always keep up with the HD feed from cable PVR. Some picture and sound breakup on recorded shows. Also the heads are a a bit noisy while watching recorded TV. However, the price was right and I can use it with my PCs if I upgrade later.

I have had this device for about a month. I replaced a Netgear networked drive that I really enjoyed but was starting to have problems with. The GreenDrive is larger and invisible to my wife as it is used for her business backup. Outstanding!

We recently purchased the Fantom Green Drive to keep a backup of our home and small business info. After reading reviews about other external drives we decided on the Fantom drive. Wow....fast and silent. It just sits there quietly and coolly and performs! Great purchase! The book says it may take 90 minutes or so to format. It took about 4 hours here but well worth the wait. Thanks for offering this product!

I've been using the Fantom for several weeks now. It has performed fast and flawlessly. The unit runs very quiet and surprisingly cool. I was considering other units, but the on/off switch was the deciding feature. However it did take hours to reformat, but once that is done, who cares?

Pros. Energy, On/Off button, eSata, basic look, easy to use, 100-240V 50-60Hz Cons. Slow, Fat32 (you have to format it to NTFS if you want to put larger files than 4 Gigabytes on it)(Used GParted)

I was pleasantly surprised at the build quality of this drive. It is a sturdy metal case, very quiet and "just works". I plugged it into my machine running Windows 7 and it was immediately recognized.
