I bought this as an upgrade to my external HDD backup for my computer. It is very quiet and runs cooler than the 250 GB drive it replaced. Thumb's up on this drive from Fantom.

It has worked quite well Had trouble at first with a xp not acceptiong it. Had to use start up disc or a copy of it. Disconected it then reconnected and had no problems since.

Plug and play. Works as expected with no problems. Definitely recommended for other to buy.

Connected up using the eSATA connection, no problems, excellent storage drive. Was a good price for the value.

Got this drive after a power outage disabled the transformer on my LaCie external drive. Hooked it up no problem, my PC recognized it instantly. Backed up my files no problem, even through the USB cable the files (mostly video, images) moved quickly. It's good that it has an on off switch because that's what I was looking for. Can't complain so far. If anything goes south I will update my review indeed.

Have been using this drive since July 2009, found it easy to setup, maintain, and use. Performance is excellent and fast! Will be ordering another in the near future for other machine.

Dual purpose USB2 and Sata operates quiet and smoothly. Nice drive and meets my needs.

Easy installation doesn't express how simple this it. Plug it into the wall, flip the power switch, and plug the usb into the computer. That's it! Good buy for anyone concerned with data loss.

Great product, reasonably priced, works well. When compared with older USB drives, this Fantom GreenDrive quickly transfers data... probably because its an eSATA model. Easy to format using Macintosh's Disk Utility app. I use it to back-up essential data, audio and video files. (In fact, after using the first one in Ohio, I bought a second one for my Texas office!)

I has been a very reliable external hard drive. I make my weekly backups on here. Only one thing. Make sure to safely remove it before turning it off or you may loose data. But, its a great quitet drive!

I bought this drive as a back up and I love it. I use a usb and it works great. for the money you can't beat it.I would also like to say this company's customer service was great and this was my first order I will be back again

The external drive performs well but could be better with a SATA cable which isn't included and COMPUSA in its wisdom misses the chance to sell as an add-on.

Took a little time to get the stupid thing to format but it's been working great since then, I'll keep my fingers crossed for long life. Gave a four on performance becuse the little bugger gets really hot and that can't be good, but I guess that's because there's no fan and that makes it green like I said before I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Very satisfied with this drive performance. I have bought it as external drive for Rogers HD PVR (digital TV recorder from Scientific Atlanta). It runs quiet. No fan is must for external drive which sits under the TV in the living room. It runs fast. Can't tell the difference when recordings are from internal PRV drive or from this external drive. I have somewhat been dissapointed it did not contain eSATA cable, but package contents are correctly listed on TigerDirect web site and I got what I paid for. Quick trip to near by computer store and I've got my cable. I can't tell how well this drive works with USB, but if you want eSATA connected drive to get more space for TV recordings on Rogers cable HD PRV - this one does the job perfecty.
