I hooked it up with a standard USB connection. It worked right away. After formating NTFS I immediatly backed up my new laptop with an image utility. I have not tried the EUSB as it does not come with that cable. It is very quiet and fast. I hope that it remains so. I am very pleased so far.

Ok. The ordering was a snap - with all the details and reviews, it was too easy to pick a this quality product. It arrived super fast and was a simple plug and play. Bought extra coverage in case of a mishap - so no worries!

I bought this product today. Plugged it in immeaditly recognized it. Now im formating it to ntsc. using it with the esata works very smoothly. hopefully it will stay this way. i would recomend this product. :-)

So far, after a month, still going. Transfer rate is good and could be on for one to three days at a time and still works.

In the month I have owned this HD it was easy to set up, partition, transfer data and scan. No problems to report yet. Great price too!!

I've had it for about three months now, about half of that time it's plugged in and turned on. No problems or errors. I dropped it from about three feet up (I'm pretty sure while actually in the process of read/write) onto a carpeted hardwood floor and it still works fine. I was lucky of course but it goes to show that this thing isn't exactly super-fragile either. Hands-down the best value for storage I've found yet.

Everything you need in to hook it up in the box. Extremly quiet and fast! I use it to stream audio to from our live Church service recording and it works great! The on-off switch is what won me over from the other brands out their!

This drive works as expected; I LOVE the OFF-switch, thereby having an easier time to make regular updates at personally convenient times; this machine will slow down the computer somewhat while running, so I can opt for high speed while woreking, and backup when done. Great!

The drive is a nice size (although it is not the smallest drive on the market, it fits nicely in my laptop bag), and has a sleek look to it. I couldn't be happier with it.

I've had this drive for 3 weeks now. I use it to archive my cd collection. Works great. no problems, well 1. mIt is now on sale for $40 less than I paid for it. You can get the 1.5 TB for what i paid. oh well, such is technology.

I bought one and it failed after a few days. The service was great. I chose to have it replaced. A week later I bought another one. I use these every day and they are quiet and fast. These drives are great. I would definitely recommend these drives!!! I have been a customer for years and this is the first time I had to return a product. You are awesome! I love it when I make the right choices!!

enjoying the drive. somewhat leery because of some of the negative reviews, but i'm glad i picked it up. i'm following their instructions as far as taking care of it and so far no complaints. excellent drive.

I bought this drive after checking online and making sure it was compatible with my Roger's Cable 8300 HD PVR. As indicated, this drive works wonderfully for what I wanted! I had 22 videos stored on my PVR's internal HD... it read 40% full... plugged in this bad boy and that dropped to 4%! :) The PVR auto-detected this drive and formatted it in about 30 seconds. Very happy ( /does happy dance) I highly recommend this drive as it's twice the 500 GB drive Roger's offers for use with their HD PVR... and half the price... buy it... it works! :) BTW... remember to buy the eSATA cable too... I bought the 6' ''Cables To Go 2m eSATA to eSATA Cable (C184-10221)'' so I could place it elsewhere in my home theatre rig... 3' version will probably also work if you want something shorter.

I've had it for just over a month now and it's been exactly what I wanted. It connects, and is visible on my PS3 though I need to "display all". I've only tried the USB, and its very fast in 2.0, but pretty slow in standard USB. Happy with my purchase to date, would recommend.

Bought this for an external backup using eSata2 cable. Transfer speed is high, but not 3Gbit. Most likely the drive itself is not fast enough to read/write at eSata2 speeds. Still very fast and solid construction.

This should give me enough space to do the job I have in mind. We recently had a fire in our home and I'm now taking inventory of everthing we own along with all the insurance information.

Wich It included a backup software but other than that is an excellent drive. No issues as of today hope it last a good time...
