Can't live without it
Comment:
Got mine plugged it in and started moving files. Access to my files are easy and speed is not an issue. I hooked it up to my laptop and works great, no problem with Vista. If you need a larger external hard drive, this was worth the cost to me. |

Pretty satisfied so far...
Comment:
For the price, It was a great deal! Very stury construction and so far as I can tell it is not esy to scratch. I have ahd my drive for 1 month now. There's a western digital in this enclosure so it seems pretty reliable. Seagate and maxtor have problems with their recent 1 TB HD so I was leary, but so far so good. Almost full and I'm already thinking of buying another one. It can be heard when you are performing large transfers, but bearable. The LED is a bit much, but flashy seems to be the theme today. Both the eSATA and USB work well however I would recommend using a different file transfer front end like Tera Copy Pro rather than the one built in to windows...you will get much more bang for your buck. I wish that it had an in line power brick rather than the old fashioned big plug, but that is all that I can really dock it for as of right now. |

It works.

I wanted a large external drive to use for backups. I plugged it in and backed up my hard drive. Until or unless it fails I don't have any issues. I guess I'm easy to please. ?8^) |

Easy to setup,
Comment:
Wish there was a way to turn off the front activity LED, very bright, had to put something in front of it so it didn't light up my room at night. Very easy to partition and format for use with Time Machine. Nice that I can remove the stand to set it horizontally if the need arises. Wish it came with some plugs for protecting the currently un-used eSATA port from dust. |

great purchase
Comment:
The price was great, so I bought two. Absolutely trouble free setup. Literally just plugged them in and they were ready to go. Started using them immediately to transfer all off my C drive. They look great sitting on top of my computer, too. |

Great HDD for Quick Backups
Comment:
Reluctant to buy because of bad reviews here and other sites. However took my chance and it mostly paid off.--- Pros: Very easy if you use USB--- Cons: Light doesn't come on during eSATA unless computer is reseted w/ HDD on; No fans; Starts to warm if transferring lots of file or leaving it on for 20 minutes. |

Good Deal
Comment:
I ordered on Monday and it arrived on Wednesday. Took it out of the box, plugged it in and no problem, it formatted quick. I was using it in seconds. Of course, I've only had it now for four hours but so far its great, it's very quite and I like the on/off button. Since this is my 1st external drive I have nothing to compare it too. Well see how well it works, in a couple months. |

For the price, It was a great deal! not heating at all, fast plug and play, no software needed, esata is a nice add-on, but usb 2.0 is doing a pretty good job too. I had it for like 5 months and it's still working perfectly. There's a western digital in this enclosure so it's really reliable. Seagate and maxtor have problems with their recent 1 TB HD. Almost full and I'm already thinking of buying another one. |

Great drive have only had one problem when a friend dropped it off my desk onto a cement floor..other than this nothing has stopped this. I have considering buying another because min is 2/3 full already. It has been running like a champ for about four months with minimal powered down time. |

Tito - The drive is fine your ignorance is appalling. Older laptops use USB 1.1 which by definition is worthless on large drives like this. The interface is bad not the drive. |

Fantom Drives G-Force 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Comment:
Ordered and recieved the Fantom GF100EU. Basically plugged it in and turned it on...and instant recognition. I use a custom built desktop Pc as well as an Acer TravelMate 4400. Icarry this along with a multitude of other equipment when I DJ. This was ordered to replace a 250GB external hd that was at capacity. Very quiet and quick. No lag time in accessing the drive. Well worth the money and time spent to get this and set it up. |

Recognized instanly in Windows XP. Just had to reformat it to NTFS (comes as FAT32). Great drive, great price. Nice for backup when building new system with RAID 5, which you cannot move to another controller. I was wary of externals, but no more. |

Fantom Drives G-Force 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Comment:
Had this one week and put it through a complete 'Torture Test'. First created 3 partition's and re-formatted all three. Transferred over 200GB to each and re-formatted and transferred again. NO PROBLEMS so far. However, almost one 'show stopper'. On my 4 year old computer, after initial formatting and rebooting: The startup would stop when accessing the BIOS. A little investigation disclosed the problem would occur at the 'Legacy USB' line. When I stopped the BIOS from looking for 'Legacy USB': Startup would proceed normally. This problem might be because of an old MOBO. My friends recommended Fantom and they maybe right. |

Comment:
I've had nothing but problems!! It has corrupted once, losing about 600gigs of data! Since I have reformatted it, it transfers at a mind-numbingly slow rate. Reformatted it again, and same thing. Not happy with the performance of this product and Fantom is pretty useless for help and assistance. |

Fantom Drives G-Force 1TB 3.5" External Hard Drive
Comment:
Drive runs quite and is fast thru eSATA. Backs up 3x faster with eSATA at 1.5Gb /sec than USB 2.0. No cable with shipment. Not much to that cable that they can't include one. |
These drives were a very good price. One worked properly, the other failed. It's covered only by the manufacurers warranty. I added $17.50 to the price by paying to send it back. I'm half delighted and half disappointed. Early life failures are really annoying.
