We use for daily and weekly backup of office file servers. 1st one did well and like the higher sata speed vs the USB drives previously used. But dual USB-sata does allow use with older laptop swe have around the office. On and Off switch on back is nice feature, last drive we had did not have this and just yanked the power cord after undocking the drive. One feature that would be nice is a more shock resistant case, but we knew what we were buying. Just feels like if drop it, the shock would be transferred to the drive inside. We'll just plan not to drop it....

I use this drive to transfer video files between my laptop and desk top. Because of this I need both the SATA and the USB ports on the drive. Both ports work great. Naturally the SATA is faster than the USB. Would recomend this drive to anyone needing a lot of disk space.

I bought this HDD for the eSATA connection. We wanted to extend the recording size of our Rogers PVR. The PVR only took a short time to detect the HDD and format it with no problems. Only downsides is that no eSATA cable was included, and be prepared to hide the HDD as the blue LED light is super bright and lights up our whole bedroom. Great product, and runs very quiet.

This drive did everything I expected it to do. In about 3 hours, I had my computers backed up. I love the on off switch, the ease of installation, and most of all the capacity. I do not have to constantly try to increase space on my computer because there is room on this drive for organizing files, for backing up, for transfers to make additional space. This is the most compatible drive I have ever purchased.

This drive is quite fast. I love the fact that it has an on-off switch. I use it on my router as a network storage drive. I backup my laptops and my mac on it. The only irritant is that the neon blue light is quite bright in the middle of the night !

I got this drive to hold all those awesome big files and stuff that were clogging up my internals. I didn't want to mess with the SATA drives, since this machine - an OLD server - doesn't have the controllers, and I figgered USB would provide a longer term solution. Great drive, and holds everything great! We got two, as is our standard practice. Both drives will redundantly backup each other.

Well i liked the first 4 of these i got six months ago so at 99 bucks i thoough i would get 4 more. As they had a great metal case and stack nicely. power switch in a good spot etc.. It seem these new ones have been redesigned and are not the same as the old model, same model number but different. I see the power supply is now a xformer with the plug coming out of it and not a box with a removeable cord anymore. Kind of fills up the power strip fast. The front and back plate have been changed also with the layout of connection not as good as it was. The front led has been changed and is not as bright as before, this might be a good thing for some of us. I had covered the led with black tape to cut down on the light so i could sleep at night. But as hard disk drive space and USB connection go these are great drives, and go to sleep after long time of no use to save power. Just takes a few seconds for them to wake up but you get use to that after some time.

Great product, detected on both Ubuntu and Windows. Plugged in, dragged files, backed up, effin primo! No problems thus far. Can't complain for a TB. Satisfied with USB doesn't come with Esata which is acceptable.

I use this as a storage for FLAC files for my computer based music server and is excellent so far! Stays cool and is quiet.

best part no extra software to install vista takes right over like was there all the time.you set up when you want to back up, off switch is great to shut off blue indicator light.

I purchased this product to make backups of me and my family's computers and laptops. I've had no issues with it. The only reason I'm giving it a 4 is that the unit became warm after being connected and on for about 5 hours while I was doing the backups. Considering the amount I use it for(which is very little) the heat is no problem

I was fortunate to only lose some of my files when i got the blue screen of death. It cost me $170 to retrieve the data, have my PC wiped and re-installed the OS. My hard drive was still ok. Now that i've got this Fantom GF1000EU G-Force 1TB External Hard Drive, I can relax and not worry about losing any data. It's very good quality...runs cool and the blue light doesn't bother me when I look at it. It doesn't have automatic back-up, but for the price, you can't go wrong. Every purchase I've made from this retailer has been flawless, and customer service is the best for answering any questions. I'll always be a loyal customer.
