Filco Majestouch 2 Camouflage Cherry MX Blue Switch 87 Key Mechanical Keyboard
Cons:No marco keysMight get "noisy"Might be hard to rapid fireExpensive for a small keyboard
Pros:Excellent "click"Cool colorFeels solidCompactBraided cord with cable wrap |
This keyboard is designed in Japan and made in Taiwan. The Cherry MX blue switch makes sweet "click" sound whenever you press it. However if you dont like typing noise then this isnt for you.The resistance of the switch should be 45-50g. Definitely needs more force to press compares to, for example, a notebook keyboard. The actuate sensation of pressing the keys are like this: you press down than you will feel a bit of resistance, then you give it a bit more force, then it "clicks" and registers the keystroke. The color is cool if you are into military stuff. It also comes with a set of light green A,S,W,D key to replacement the original black keys. Key remover tool is included too and the replacement was very easy. Moreover, this keyboard feels extremely solid and rigid compare with other keyboard I had (ie Logitech G15,G110,MX5000, etc.). Nice and heavy too, meaning it used to good material inside it. It feels like "an iPhone5" instead of a (insert whatever plastic filmy phone here). One downside for this keyboard is that there is no marco key. But then there is a Fn key that you can press it with F1-F12 that let you increase, decrease, mute volume, or skip to next or previous track, play, pause, stop, and sleep. This Fn key is on the left side of the keyboard usually where the Windows key is. As a result, the Windows key is on the right and the property key is right next to it. There is no way to turn the Windows key off though.I only tried it for type review so I cant comment on how durable the switches are or whether the paint will get worn out or how easy is it to clean up a spill. However, There is one thing that puzzles me about this keyboard. On the box, it says Nkey rollover is 6 for USB and "Full" for PS/2. I wonder why...The bottom line is that it is a cool old-school looking and solid keyboard with a camo theme that makes typewriter sound when you type.
