Fractal Design Silent Series 140MM Ultra Quiet Cooling Fan 600RPM 39CFM 9DBA W/ Rubber Fasteners
Cons:-didn't come with any/all rubber fasteners
Pros:-quiet-long power cable-rubber fasteners-no LED lights Comment:
This is a decent fan without the annoying LED lights (if you are like me and don't care about case bling). The rubber fasteners are a good idea, but of the two extra FD fans I bought, one came with 3 of 4 rubber fasteners, and the other fan didn't come with any! That pissed me off, but the two fans weren't be mounted by screws/fasteners anyways. |

I find noctua fans are more aestetically pleasing. These 140mm keep the case extremely cool and quiet. |

Fractal Design Silent Series 140MM Ultra Quiet Cooling Fan 600RPM 39CFM 9DBA W/ Rubber Fasteners
Cons:Cheaply made
Pros:Cool colors Comment:
Plastic has rough cut and the build quality is far from the best. For the price, I recommend Thermalright instead. They are cheaper and better built! |

Fractal Design Silent Series 140MM Ultra Quiet Cooling Fan 600RPM 39CFM 9DBA W/ Rubber Fasteners
Cons:
None.
Pros: Silent, sleeved cable, includes screws and rubber mounts. Comment:
I bought the fan to go with my Fractal R3 case and I am glad that I did. The fan is noiseless to my ears and is well appointed with it's sleeved cable. You just won't find a better fan for $12. |

Fractal Design Silent Series 140MM Ultra Quiet Cooling Fan 600RPM 39CFM 9DBA W/ Rubber Fasteners
Cons:
rubber fasteners difficult to put on
Pros: noise, price, looks Comment:
Bought 2 of these for my Fractal R3, the colours matches the design of the case perfectly. Extremely quiet, although I'm not sure if it's exactly 9DBA even at the lowest voltage. One thing to note is tha the rubber fasteners were nearly impossible to put on.. i gave up and used screws. |

Fractal Design Silent Series 140MM Ultra Quiet Cooling Fan 600RPM 39CFM 9DBA W/ Rubber Fasteners
Cons:
None
Pros: Quiet, perform well Comment:
No complaints with these fans. Bought a couple more for my Fractal R3, they're not too loud and move air fine. Nice sleeved cables as well. No complaints, probably pretty average in terms of airflow though, they're not high RPM by any means. |

Fractal Design Silent Series 140MM Ultra Quiet Cooling Fan 600RPM 39CFM 9DBA W/ Rubber Fasteners
Cons:
Screwless design isn't any better than competitor's.
Pros: Noiselessness** Most CFM per dBA I have seen (or heard)!Totally deserving of 2010 sexiest computer fan award! Comment:
Noiselessness** Most CFM per dBA I have seen (or heard)!Totally deserving of 2010 sexiest computer fan award!I have no mean of recording them but it would seem these fans emit more noise than 9dBA but I am fairly certain they also push more than the 39CFM suggested on the box. They are still virtually silent (they make a little more noise when powered on than not)! Definitively the highest CFM per dBA fans I have ever owned! Fractal Design Silent Series 140MM Ultra Quiet Cooling Fan 600RPM 39CFM 9DBA W/ Rubber Fasteners
Cons:
picture is inaccurate
Pros: looks ok, decent sleeving, would probably be quiet Comment:
I got this 140mm and the 120mm Fractal's to try out. Pretty disappointed with the bearing noise, but NCIX was very helpful with the RMA. Hopefully the next ones will be better. The picture is inaccurate on this, the fan is a 7 bladed design instead of 11 blades, the rubber fan mounts are the ones used by Nexus for closed corner fans.Leads me to question Fractal Design as a company with the prominent USB problem on the cases. |
I use these fans in my Fractal Define R3 and they do the job nicely. Right now I have some older fans that are rated at much higher CFM but that comes at the price of being really loud. These Fractal fans are barley audible.I recently ordered a third 140mm and 120mm fan to replace the older and louder fans in my R3. I expect a large difference in noise. The bottom line is that these fans look good, perform well and are easy on the wallet. I considered buying more expensive fans for when some are 20$ each that can add up fast.
