G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory
Cons:Price keeps going up
Pros:Great overclockers, run quite cool even at 1.65v and overclocked. Heat sinks are effective and not too high for most coolers. Elpida-BBSE chips apparently. Comment:
I got my fisrt pair of these in October after I read a review on a German site and they were apparently Elpida-BBSE chips and great overclockers. They did not dissappoint. The XMP at 1600 7.7.7.24 works fine but even better, they overclock easily. I bought another pair in December concerned that 4 sticks might not overclock as easily but they have been fine at 1880mhz 9.9.9.24-1T folding 8 threads at 100% load, 24/7. I had them higher but my CPU temps were too high for me, so I’m keeping them at 1880mhz / QPI x36 / i7 860 cpu 3.76ghz x20 / BLK188. A bit of a sleeper deal on these sticks I think. G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory
Cons:none so far
Pros:Well built heatsink, low profile so that they dont get in the way of CPU heatsinks. Comment:
I have 2x2G installed in a Gigabyte P55-UD4P motherboard. Worked like a charm with no problems when I changed to the XMP settings for turbo. have timings set as advertised after increases the default voltage from 1.5 to 1.6 |

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory
Cons:One stick was became erroneous a week after install
Pros:Well-priced, easy to install and quick to work Comment:
The sticks work fine and are, for the most part, everything they promise to be. Unfortunately, I had a single stick become defective two weeks after receiving them - a memory test confirmed this. However, NCIX helped me determine what problem was causing my bluescreen and I'm now in the process of getting the stick replaced through NCIX. |

Put two pairs of these (4x2gb) into an i7 860 system using a gigabyte GA-P55 UD4P and they worked flawlessly. Got them running at full speed without any problems. |

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory
Cons:None
Pros:Runs better than speccedPriceLooks way better than the pictureCool Comment:
Popped this into my new p7p55 mobo, was read at 1333. I enabled XMP in the bios, rebooted, and the memory was read at 1600 7-7-7-24 s 1.60V. That's .05V below the spec! Not only does it perform excellently but it looks awesome. The picture above does no justice to what it looks like in real life. The black is a nice jet black and the red is vivid. |

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory
Cons:See summary
Pros:Look, performance, price, timings Comment:
Bought this as part of a build for a friend. Paired with a Socket 1156 i750 and MSI P55Express MoBo. The RAM is awesome... looks great, quality build, fast timings and solid performance. The only odd thing I found is that the RAM would only run at 1333 unless I enabled the Intel XMP feature. Just be aware of that when looking at the speed rating in the title. This is RAM I would buy for mayself however... highly recommended. |

G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory
Cons:None
Pros:Speedy, Inexpensive. Comment:
I got 4 of these for my workstation, they worked right out of the box. These were a bit cheaper then other brands but G.Skill seems to make solid products. I have an i5 system and these are made for this cpu. |
Had these ram sticks for over 30 days, very little to go wrong with them other than the lack of stock and price control. Even at base level, these sticks do their job well.
