Working with it for gaming. So far, works like a charm. My computer system automatically picks it up as 1066mHz, not 1333mHz. Every thing seems to be compatible, so I don't know, but it seriously doesn't bother me.A few days following I bought it, it got the 15% promotion. Not actually a con although.

Solid memory. Bought two of these with the 15% off promo so got 8g of 1333 memory for ๖. Haven't tried to overclock it but but I have had no issues overclocking any of my other gskill memory. ... Rapidly becoming a big Gskill fan, never had any gskill memory give me issues. Inexpensive rock solid memory that overclocks properly.

Owned for two.75 months it works. Played high efficiency games and it by no means crashed or something else. Leaves room for expansion which I like. It just functions. Genuinely yet another cost drop right soon after I bought it? =) Ah well I suppose personal computer hardware costs inevitably drop. Looks purty.

Dependable Not specifically very good when overclocking a CPU (see below) I tried to OVERclock this RAM without having the desire outcomes. I wound up UNDERclocking it Ɨ-7-7-18) and bumping up the voltage to 1.6 in order to overclock a Q9550 to 3.82.If you have issues attempting to balance this RAM with an overclocked CPU, attempt UNDERclocking it.Great RAM! Keeping all 4 sticks now.

I installed 4 of these into an ASUS M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 board along with an AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition processor, all powered by a Corsair 750 watt PSU. OS is Windows Server 2008 R2 Regular (Windows NT 6.1). The memory is at stock/auto settings, absolutely nothing had to be adjusted in the BIOS. The GPU becoming used is a modest ASUS GeForce GTS 450. I'm a self-taught CG animation generalist and I use my program for all the a variety of stages of the digital production pipeline. From concept art and matte painting with Photoshop through 3D function involving modeling, animation and rendering in Maya, through detailed texturing in Mari and sculpting in Mudbox, to 2K compositing of full floating point precision ࿀ bits per channel) imagery rendered from Maya utilizing Nuke, to post production making use of Vegas, and final encoding and stream multiplexing of sequences employing ffmpeg CLI and x264 CLI, to delivery with Encore. Of all the tasks I do, the 3D work tends to stress this memory the most. NOT CONS: This memory is amazing, especially at this cost, and the method is rock solid. As I function on dense scenes in Maya (especially with lots of foliage), the 16 GB limit is reached on the scenes consisting of hundreds of millions of polygons, but I don't have any problems with the memory itself; it just works. Rendering Maya scenes through the command line eases some load on the system as no UI has to be addressed, permitting 100% of the CPU cores to be maxed 24ǝ for as a lot of hours/days/weeks required to render a project. DDR3 1333 memory is much more than quick sufficient for 3D rendering, considering that it's mostly accomplished in memory anyway, and such function generates a lot of data, specially for particles, fluids, and other dynamic simulation caches, so I prefer typical 7200 RPM difficult drives over SSDs. Also when making use of Mental Ray for Maya, I'm able to develop memory mapped files (.map), meaning partial rather of entire texture maps are loaded into memory to be accessed when invoked by shading algorithms. What actually impresses me is the amount of information I'm able to wrangle using a desktop program with 16 GB of memory. More than 100 million polygons in Mudbox are able to be effortlessly sculpted, then standard and displacement maps exported for rendering later. Mari is also a enjoyable knowledge with this significantly memory; Mari simply loads and works with models consisting of hundreds of 4096x4096 (or considerably larger) texture maps along with dynamic shading as the geometry is becoming painted, and Mari is intelligent and swaps information to disc archives even when the memory limit is way beyond maxed out. To me it's exciting that I'm able to function with huge information sets that don't have to be partitioned and broken up (as usually) to function on, so if you're in need of low-price excellent memory, I very advocate this. If you happen to get unlucky and get a bad module, G.Skill has you covered with their lifetime warranty. I just don't see any cons with this memory; whether for play or for perform, it performs.

Not considerably to say here. It works at advertised specs. No DOA. Memtest passed on all four sticks. Do expect to get far beyond manufacturer specs. But if you not overclocking, this ram is affordable and it works.

Works excellent. Pc runs very well for operating Win7. Would purchase again. *However* I bought 2 of these. My MB can take up to 16GB or 4 sticks or ram. I only purchased them 2 months ago. I am having concerns with one of them. Ran the Microsoft Memory Utility and it says I have a challenge. So now I have to take one out and run it once again to see which 1 it is. I gave this three eggs due to the fact newegg is the greatest. The item is excellent. But lets be honest. Nothing is going to work all the time when it comes to technology. Manufacturer Response:.Dear ClientWe are sorry to hear 1 module has an concern. Please send it in for RMA and the new stick should work far better. However due to the nature of DRAM modules, random defects could occur. For this reason, all G.Skill memory packages are backed by a lifetime guarantee. If for whatever cause your memory becomes defective following a couple days, weeks, or years of use, we will exchange it with a new replacement with out question. Purchased 6 to have 24GB total RAM w/ my i7 920 and I'm getting no probs at all. Works just fine and no errors. This route was Significantly more affordable (about 1ǘ the price) than purchasing a "matched" set. Honestly, according to my bios settings, they appear to be "matched" given that they all have the same readings. None. Don't get the packaged set just trigger the supplier did some fancy advertising and marketing and stated they had been matched... 6 of these four gig units was 1ǘ the cost and supplied the Same outcomes.
