I enjoy the new approaches of connecting things to the motherboards these days. The CPU zero-force-insertion point has been around for a when now, but the effortless-peasy way to put a fan on is great! No more scratched knuckles from a battle to lock the fan onto the CPU! This motherboard had to be sent back; the original was DOA. Even so, this is the 1st time I have gotten a negative mb from Gigabyte, so I'm cutting them some slack. |

None. Dead on arrival. Dead on arrival. NewEgg's RMA process is atrocious--for instance to price to ship the board was 7.87 by means of UPS but the expense to ship back via the NewEgg 'discounted' UPS rate is 12.83. This has left an incredibly undesirable taste in my mouth, so a lot so that I may well cease shopping here. |

Good functionality, Solid construction, Physical installation of the board went with no a hitch, very well construct board, and connections are effectively placed, with exception of the USB headers, these are in the middle of the board, tends to make cable management a challenge. Not confident where to commence, very merely the worst board i have ever installed. I have been working with this board for practically a month now, attempting to get my hardware to get along. I moved from an Asus mobo to this, I have had to dump most of my harddrives, due to the truth: out of 6 distinct SATA controller cards, 1 was capable to get along with this board. For some cause, anytime you add a drive to this board, it assumes you want it to be your new boot drive.....this is ridiculous Gigabyte, with 3 of the RAID cards, the bios essentially would hide the menu to adjust the boot choice is the BIOS.... Why? If it had been one particular of the cards, "Bad card" but 3 unique cards by distinct manufacturer's? I lastly located 1 of my cards that allowed me to connect the extra two drives. Then there is the DDR3 problem, BSD after BSD, basically could not get any version of Windows to install, TY OCZ forum, the mem controllers set the DDR voltage to 1.5v, the OCZ sticks wanted 1.65v, Isnt that what SPD is for? Frustrations aside, and the fact this board practically went in the river various occasions, it appears I located a configuration it could deal with. I'm not pleased, and this expertise has undoubtedly lowered my opinion of Gigabyte. Why place expansion slots on the board if they don't operate ideal? Probably even although they put a 4-ch RAID chip on here, they don't want you to use it, IDK!!! Subsequent time it's back to Asus and/or Abit!! Immediately after 25yrs of building property systems and servers, Asus and Abit have in no way lost my respect!! |

Some of the Positives about this board. OOO Wait there isn't any. I purchased this board last october and i have been battling it given that i got it .. but ill tell you what .. if you Enjoy random freezes and frequent Random BSOD (Blue screen of Death) errors this board is definitly the 1 you want. It is a best notch challenge creater. Ill very first start out off by saying that i bought new ram, new graphics card, and a new Energy provide, and virtually purchased a CPU until i came across all the negative feedback about this board and the exact same difficulties other individuals were possessing. Numerous Random Unique BSOD's, Random freezing and automatic restarting. Flashed and updated BIOS did nothing and bought several diverse components soon after continious load testing to serveral various new components i decided to appear at the critiques of this board. It is listed as fourǛ eggs i am incredibly upset about this because of the number of individuals that may well essentially get this board. please everybody remain away from this bored and you will have no complications ... The functions you get for the cost are good, Gigabyte's name is respectable and I've not had any concerns with them... just before now. 1 deadly challenge right after an additional. Instability is the biggest issue. Paired with a 1090T, ought to have been fine but it was crashing, freezing, BSODing continually. Anyplace from 1 to 30 minutes it would just crash, either a game or Windows 7 Ult x64. Also had troubles with CPU voltage and RAM settings. It didn't like the Mushkin RAM I had installed, and everything was "supposed" to perform just fine according to their web page and some other customers I talked to working with my hardware. Swapped for an additional mobo and all is properly, I guess I just got a poor one? It was a rev. 1.3 board, if that helps any individual else. Must have been an great board. As an alternative it was the most unstable and buggy factor I may possibly have ever employed. I couldn't even get by an installation of an application devoid of it crashing, and if it did it would BSOD immediately after that. RMA'd it, not searching back. |

Uncomplicated to install. All round the layout is very good. Lots of expansion slots. Lots of USB ports. The USB3 will come in handy in the close to future. BIOS is nicely laid out and intuitive. The BIOS capabilities for upgrading and backup are often a great addon. The dual-bios feature is nice in case you corrupt the major BIOS. Functions for overclocking are easily accessible for everyone who wishes to overclock. The price is proper. Front panel audio header ought to be placed in a better spot so it is easier for the cable to reach more very easily. I have applied ABIT motherboards previously but they are not in the mobo market place any longer. Gigabyte has generally been a close second in alternatives for motherboards. For the price this motherboard can't be beat. |

While waiting for a reply the NIC on the motherboard failed. Updated the case on ggts.gigabyte.com.tw to include this facts. After two days my case hasn't been processed or read. Thank goodness NewEgg has my back! RMA'd this motherboard by way of NewEgg and ordered another manufacturer's (MSI) overnighted. Almost certainly won't get Gigabyte once again. |

Do you like BSOD? Do you like manuals that are Incorrect and have misprints when giving error codes hence top you into testing each piece of hardware only to discover out that the manual is wrong? Do you like spending hours on hours, wasting weekends, and acquiring and returning distinct types of RAM/GPU/HD'/PS only to come out with the identical 1 extended continuous error code? Then appear no further! Gigabyte created a true winner here. See cons for serious story: After a month of ownership, out of nowhere my entire computer system began freezing, namely in games like sc2, TF2, well any gaming seriously. When the method crashed, the motherboard would scream 1 lengthy steady beep at me, in the manual it states it was the graphics card. So like any person, I trusted that the manual was appropriate and gigabyte isn't a full idiot and knows there product superior then I do. So I purchased a new GPU, exact same problem. I did some study on-line to discover out that the beep code was a misprint and its essentially the RAM, SO I returned the GPU and bought all varieties of ram, no avail. Then I bought a brand new 650w PS, nothing. I rma'd the motherboard, STATING Very Clearly TO GIGABYTE the motherboard was the challenge and was defective. What did they do? They flashed the bios and sent it back. Thank you for INSULTING my intelligence and wasting 16 bucks on shipping. I ended up getting an Asus and my process has been running flawlessly with all the precise very same hardware. In summary, the board was finicky from the get go. I would get a random BSOD here and there, a random freeze here and there, but it wasn't until soon after a month it was non stop and the board wouldn't even post. The component that ticked me off the most although was the technician at gigabyte flashed the bios, and loaded windows on it (thats there way of "stress testing" it LOL) and a-ok'd it. As soon as I got the board back, no much less then three days it started doing all the similar precise items, BSOD, random freezing, and the dreaded beep code. I Particularly stated in my RMA request anything that I tested and did and but they didn't give me a new board. I will most likely be chucking this board into the trash due to the fact I'm performed with gigabyte. All the wasted time and dollars only to get shafted like that seriously ticks me off. I commonly In no way rant about hardware, and commonly by no means have any troubles developing systems ྪ+ years carrying out this). It appears to be a fantastic board for the cost. I just received this board (afternoon of 3May2010) and located it had just the “F1” Bios from January? of this year. This method attempted to do a “BIOS Recovery” (with what idk as there was only 1 version). It would not recognize my Phenom II X6 1090T cpu nor would it enable me to update the BIOS to the F2 revision. My third technique build in four years… I was most displeased this occurred. I really like this board. I looked a lengthy time and did a lot of investigation to find a match for the AMD 900 series quad core processors with out having to deal with BIOS updates. Ended up with a Phenom II X4 945 and 4GB of G-skill DDR3-1333 RAM ram. It works wonderful. Incredibly intuitive BIOS setup. Seeking forward to the future of USB3. Excellent layout. Good detail in the manual. Ok, so there is one factor, but not just with Gigabyte or this unique board. I hate the plastic push pins on the North and South bridges. If you bump the North bridge heat sink and "rock it", logic says you break the bond of the heat sink compound. Why not go with a couple of nylon screws and tighten it down, trigger it does run relatively hot anyway. From cold start to "starting windows" screen displayed is about not very 20 seconds! Would with out a doubt use this board once again! |

I just wanted to add extra comments to my previous favorable critique. I just employed the Straightforward Tune application that came with the MB and unlocked two additional cores on my Phenom II 560. It was so uncomplicated and it's stable! The software program does all of the BIOs adjustments for you. Don't listen to these youtube directions saying that you require to locate an old BIOs revision, etc. This board overclocks easily, it's stable, it has excellent audio and even has USB3. It does almost everything that I need to have. I can't assume of something unfavorable. Excellent board for the price. |

Really straightforward installation. The only challenge I had was the Straightforward Tune software kept asking for permission to run every single time I started Windows. I removed it from startup making use of Msconfiq and every thing is fine. I guess I could have uninstalled the system also. None so far. This is fairly a capable MB for the income and would be a good option for a low to intermediate price make. Extremely quick and stable. |

Effortless to use overclock capabilities.USB three. is nice to have without it taking up a PCI slotThe dynamic underclocking function is nice for both saving power and maintaining your CPU cool under most operations. Is smarter than I thought it would be.The AM3+ socket nevertheless has some legs to it, permits you to upgrade your old and stale X2 or X4 into some thing superior. The default bootup splash screen is ugly? (you can disable it) At very first I was suspicious that a motherboard who's greatest selling point was some USB ports would have adequate features, but it surprised me. There was a lot more to it than meets the eye. Slap a Phenom X4 on there and you have the beginnings of an outstanding mid-range pc at a surprisingly low price. |

Soon after testing the ram (current board and on yet another pc with memtest, ram passed). I put it back in the board to see it booted up perfectly and shrugged it off as possibly mis-seated. The dilemma kept occurring more than and over. I would have to pull my ram, re-seat the chips, and then the computer would perform. important discomfort in the rear. I have had this mobo for a although now. This is the relevant specs: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Deneb 3.2GHz CPU; 16Gbs of G.Ability Ripjaws Series DDR3 1600; ZALMAN CNPS10X Performa CPU cooler. This is a Great mobo setup for me. I run Gentoo Linux so right here is some Linux info: root@fireball / # lspci -k | grep driver Kernel driver in use: ahci Kernel driver in use: ohci_hcd Kernel driver in use: ehci_hcd Kernel driver in use: piix4_smbus Kernel driver in use: HDA Intel Kernel driver in use: r8169root@fireball / #For the temp sensors, it uses "ITE IT87xx" in the kernel. It senses temps and fans with that. It also picks up my nvidia card info as properly. 1 drawback, the fan on the CPU cooler sits on leading of the memory stick closest to the CPU. I do wish the memory slots had been farther away from the CPU. It operates but just 1 inch would make a large distinction. I suspect other large CPU coolers would have the same problem. Decide on your CPU cooler meticulously. This is a wonderful mobo and it operates really effectively with Linux. It might be worth acquiring the mobo that supports 6Gbs/s drives but this is fast adequate for me. This is what I get:root@fireball / # hdparm -t /dev/sdb/dev/sdb: Timing buffered disk reads: 326 MB in three.01 seconds = 108.20 MB/secroot@fireball / # Excellent mobo and extremely advised if it suites your needs. |

With the AM3 socket it's variable as to what you can make in it.There is a noticeable speed difference on the USB three. ports.Incredibly great and well created board. Not the most friendly for a bottom mounted PSU.Only a single PCIe slot. This Motherboard is in my budget gaming rig. At the price tag and with the variability you can slap in it it's a pretty great piece of equipment. I advocate it if you're developing price range.
