GIGABYTE GA-790XT-USB3 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:-No motherboard power LED-More PCI-E slots-Something weird happened during this build
Pros:-Fair price-Great board layout-USB 3.0-SATA/USB hybrid connectors on the back |
Bought this for a friend's build. Paired this up with a Phenom II 550 BE and a pair of G. Skill DDR3-1600 9-9-9-24. So I put this thing together for my buddy while watching Canada take the Gold from the U.S. LOL. Anyways, I tried powering on and didn't get a post. Nothing powered up at all. Double checked my connections, reseated the CPU, tried a different PSU, double checked the RAM modules, nothing. That's when I realized there was no motherboard LED. Didn't realize how important those were until now. I took it apart and put the motherboard back in the box. I told my friend that I would put in an RMA request. After I left, my buddy decided to try once more and got the thing to post. I asked him what he did and he told me he didn't do anything differently. I noticed a post below from XIII saying he is having trouble with this board too. I'm not sure what the problem was but it's working now. All the other components are working too.
