GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:- BIOS feels old and clunky
Pros:- Great for 24/7 operation- 8+2 Power Phase is more than enough for an AMD FX 8350 b 4.5GHz- Good amount of PCIe slots in order to install a Tri-Fire Graphics array Comment:
I've built two systems using this board. Both of them also pair this board with an AMD FX 8350. I haven't had any problems with the boards thus far and am quite happy with the purchases. |

GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:-Poor design on North Bridge heat sink, unable to use a PCI-E soundcard or PCI-E/SDD.-No usb3 cable adapter-poor locations for front audio & firewire interface -Price at over $217 with tax-Integrated soundcard not great -Provides SLI bridges but not Crossfire bridges
Pros:-Black PCB(color of Mobo)-Supports up to 3 way SLI/Crossfire-Looks nice Comment:
Not happy with the choice I made, was planning on adding a PCI-E sound card but that is impossible unless I remove/replace the North Bridge heat sink stock. Gigabyte should have used the same concept as their GA-990FXA-UD3 N-Bridge heat sink design in which it would saved/able to use the PCI-E slot. Should have provided an USB3 adapter if you have a usb3 interface on your mobo. Why have the front audio & front firewire interface all the way back at the bottom if most/some case don't provide long enough cables to reach them. This motherboard should only be considered if you plan on not installing a soundcard & plan to do 3 way SLI/Crossfire setup. |

GIGABYTE GA-990FXA-UD5 ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:none so far
Pros:great layout! Very stable in overclocking Comment:
This is not my first gigabyte board and as always those motherboard are highly overclockable. I'm running it 20% - 25% faster bus speed! |
Was for an btc minig rig. Needed a lot of pcie slot and a low cost setup. I bough a cheap AMD CPU for 50$ and this board. Was able to run 6 HD7950 without problem.
