I own two of these little gems and my greatest pro has been reliability! And who does want a dependable mobo for their rig. I have one board in my htpc and i couldn't have picked a much better board. The second one is in my home office pc and i wanted anything for an everyday pc with enough kung fu to do the occasional gaming also. It permitted me to overclock my Phenom II 945 to 3.6Ghz seriously effortless. Took a xfx 5770 comfortably and did not cover my sata ports though a longer video card would have been a different story. Pretty fast booting bios too. On board graphics a lot more than sufficient for great video playback. none seriously, had the occasional problem of sound through hdmi not work following the htpc using this board came out of hibernation. Very rare and would call for a restart. Makes a good htpc system and your every day pc but can also be in a fantastic gaming system. Price tag is great also. A single of the most reviewed boards on newegg so everyone cant be wrong can they? I highly suggest this board.

This board functions perfectly and is a relatively complete-featured motherboard regardless of it's small type element. I'm utilizing it in an HTPC and love it! The only complaint I have is in the esata. There's no way to set the esata controller to AHCI with no setting all the sata ports to AHCI... and when I do that, I can't boot from my Plextor optical drive. If set the initial 4 sata ports to IDE, you can't set esata to AHCI. If you set the 1st 4 ports to AHCI, you can set esata to IDE or AHCI. That seems opposite of what it ought to be. I suppose I could set the 1st 4 sata ports to AHCI, ports 5 & 6 to IDE, then use a slot bracket for esata, hook my optical drive to the 5th port and just not use the 6th port (the on board esata jack). That really should perform, but I haven't don't it but.

Plugging into front panel USB jacks causes random reboots. I would be truly happy with this board if it didn't reboot every so typically when I plug one thing into a single of the front panel USB jacks. There seems to be no consistency to when this happens. I've spoken to Gigabyte tech assistance and reflashed the BIOS as they encouraged. Next step would be RMA, but I can't afford to wait for a repair or replacement. If your a newbie like me and want or will need to upgrade or replace your mobo you can't beat this board for ease of install. Just take your time and make sure you stick to directions about grounding your self.Especialy in the winter there seems to be a lot more static in the air and cloths. None so far. I was incredibly happy with the price tag and speed of shipping right here at Newegg. Btw the shipping was free of charge and it was here in the hills of Ky in 55 hrs right after ordering.

If your cable is not extended adequate it has to go by the PCI slots. It's rev three.three board, not the pictured 1.. Upgraded my nForce based MSI board. Had to uninstall all the nVidia drivers to keep the Vista alive. The new mobo recognized almost everything appropriately (CPU voltage, RAM speed etc). Mobo asks soon after POST if you want to enable SATA AHCI. If your current AHCI drivers are gone (or not installed at all) you will get BSOD. Apply MS Fixit 50470 for your Vistaǝ which will enable AHCI in the OS, then upon restart allow the AHCI on the mobo. Also, it did not recognize my USB keyboard via USB hub through POST, connect your KB directly to the mobo USB if you want to enter the BIOS. Working with my old Athlon 64 x2 5200, 2x DDR2 800 (dual channel, make confident you don't have odd quantity of sticks), Radeon HD 5670. It's a perfect upgrade for existing AMD customers which will give bunch of options in terms of CPU for the future.

No issues at all, operating Ubuntu ten.ten on it and works like a charm. None, no crashes or glitches. I don't ask considerably of this board as it's just a reference Pc so I hardly use any of it's built in bells and whistles. It just wants to perform. wonderful video card i switched from nvidia 9400 gt and boy what a difference!!!! price tag is very good, i have every thing on HIGH settings for COD MW2 and black ops and it performs like a charm little bit also big so it blocks couple of my SATA ports

I purchased this to replace faulty board on a dual core method. Installed all old parts (cpu,fam,2 drives,ram and so on) booted proper up with no problems. None so far but its early. If anything changes so will my critique, for now though, seems great, easy setup with only minor tweaks to bios. None

it was low cost when i ordered it Arrived DOA, and the 24 pin slot for the energy supply has no difficulty letting you place the point in wrong, not a con as substantially annoying but the box comes with far more stickers on it than my 5 year old nieces backpack. Can somebody explain to me why the hell the Cmos battery is always correct behind the pci-e slot? forces you to eliminate the video card when you require to reset the Cmos (happens alot with old school OCing). Had to wait two weeks for newegg to approach my rma and determine they didnt have it in stock, fortunately i got a 25 dollar credit for the inconvenience, tho id rather have NOT spent the money Ƒ total order all RMAd) then to be out 160 for two weeks and nothing to show for it

Boards are awesome when they perform. I've done multiple builds with this very same board and loved it - - till one died on me - - see cons below. I RMA's a board that died after about six months. Shouldn't have been a big deal. I paid to ship it to Gigabyte and then waited for them to test it (which took forever). Then the unthinkable....they sent the board back to me devoid of repairing it. It is nevertheless dead. I have multiple GA-MA785GM-US2H boards and tested an additional with every component that was hooked up to this dead board. It's dead. I used to be a huge fan of Gigabyte. Works fine. Good bios flexibility. Can upgrade to modern day AM3 cpu in future. Would like stuff like sideport mem, much more sata, a PCIex1 rather than two PCI slots, but it is what it is. Heat sinks run hotter than I like 鲳F with no air flow.) Present version is colored differently than pictured, It's gigabyte blue now. I'm not employing the on-board video. Stuck a BE2400 and some mem from a dead server in it.

Adore the layout of the motherboard. Tried taking out the stock heat sink from the board and also took out the cpu also, it was neither i added also considerably thermal paste to the cpu to make it stick to the heat sink or the motherboard wasn't holding it extremely well. I installed the motherboard in my situation and got everything tied up and prepared to install Windows but tiny did I know that when I plugged the heat sink to the cpu fan where it was suppose to go, it runs for a second then stops. I tried the technique fan and it runs good. I tried anything I knew from memory, power, cpu, to the board itself and nevertheless no display.
