Less than ๖ for 2oz of copper was a fantastic deal...wait a minute... I purchased 3 of these boards to run 3 identically configured systems. Only 1 runs stable on XP Pro. One board required to be RMA'd because of a negative pci-e port confirmed by swapping in recognized, great cards. HD Audio driver installation is a nightmare. Looking support forums the common consensus is that the install CD that ships is junk. After a couple of hours of frustration I downloaded latest drivers and BIOS from gigabyte, flashed the bios, and proceeded to adhere to steps recommended by other technical owners. Following flashing the BIOS, removing relevant registry entries, even reinstalling XP then very first installing the MS UAA bus driver prior to the Realtek driver, cautiously canceling each and every and all new hardware found prompt, XP nevertheless does not recognize the onboard HD Audio. I am beginning to suspect that the HD Audio chip is negative but I have no way of confirming this. I have exhausted all order of operation permutations suggested. No pros to mention since I didn't get to use it. A friend convinced me to build my pc but left me hanging at the important ordering stage so I did the best I could based on reviews. This motherboard has alot of fantastic evaluations so I got. The 3 eggs is due to the fact I don't know how I could have recognized ahead of time that my Radeon HD6870 would cover and/or block all 5 of my SATA ports. Two of them virtually have access but the interference is just adequate to maintain me from plugging them in.

none at this point The HDMI port does not work, when operating off of the VGA port the board runs for about 10 minutes then locks up and will not reboot. Sounds like it's overheating but there is no sign of that, anything is cool. Seems to do what it ought to so far. Installing Server 2008 as I sort this on my major computer. HDMI output is fine on my secondary 24" monitor. There is a 2x4 power connector for the CPU. The PSU in my server comes with a 2x2 and 2x3. Initially I assumed that the 2x3 would be proper as it would possibly feed the extra 12v lines and just be missing the ground.This was not the case. The board would not power on at all. Fans would not even spin up. Eventually from googling, I read that other Gigabyte boards came with plugs covering 4 of the pins and allowing for a 2x2 connector to be employed. So I plugged into the 2x2 connector and voila, finally worked.The instruction manual could have been much clearer on this and saved me the trouble of breaking out a backup PSU and googling for ten minutes. This is replacing an old K8N Neo4 board that was operating an Athlon64. Component of me wishes I had waited a couple of days and gotten in on the PSU/Mobo combo that was in Newegg's deals right now for a related micro atx board.Running with an AMD Athlon X2 7850 Black Edition Kuma 2.8GHz and enormous tower cooler in a mid tower case. Overkill for being a file/media server that sits in a closet, but I also use it as a test bench for other stuff.Will update this evaluation if anything goes wrong aside from that initial power issue.

good upgrade for not a lot of dollars. For the average laptop or computer user, it's not a negative way to go. Not really any problems to be concerned with to date. Initial mother board didn't operate. This 1 is a replacement. Have had problems with video locking / freezing the pc, but it could be a driver / computer software problem that's not associated to the motherboard. If it continues, I could attempt upgrading to a unique video card.

For the price this is an outstanding obtain! the onboard video card helped alot in the choice producing due to the fact im not a big gamer but i do game so a lower high quality one does just fine for me. Dual bios and allll the other features of the motherboard are absolutely very good. Simple installation and my develop runs exceptional with this motherboard ummm that its DDR2 instead of DDR3 i dont know?? none actually The chipset isnt compatible with some points i would like to do but doesnt really matter, its not a enormous deal

Works nicely with my Athlon 64 Dual Core CPU. I was able to more than clock it fairly quickly. Lots of room for improvement in my method.DD2 Ram -- all my old rams just fit nicely DD2 Ram -- well DD3 would have been better Now if I can only get an Phenom II X4 or X6 I will be all set.

The specs had been good for the motherboard. One of the capacitors fried when I tried to turn the computer on. I wish it didn't have any difficulties. Specs are wonderful. But I want DVI output. For some cause the mobo doesn't detect my monitor and I can only make it work with VGA. There appears to be no bios selection to force DVI, so I'm out of luck.

Cheap at 69.99, and cheaper when getting combo with CPU. Incredibly nicely created. Works with my old DDR2 modules, unclock all four cores on my Phenom II x2 555 BE, able to OC my CPU to 3.8GHz @ stock voltage and passed 24hrs Prime 95 test. I wish there had been a piezo speaker on board. SATA ports are fairly awkwardly placed when working with a lengthy PCI-E video card as some assessment said, but I guess that's a price to pay for a microATX. This motherboard is all about value for funds. I bought it with Phenom 555 BE and a บ giftcard as a combo for 152USD. For a mobo and 4 core CPU running 3.8GHz, that's dirt low cost.

Exactly where must I get started? I got my old nvidia 9800 GTX+ on to this board and got my efficiency and money put in. The bios was a small confusing at very first when I got it to boot up but when you get use to it, it's uncomplicated and uncomplicated to function with. Supports AM2-AM3 socket which is a plus and fantastic for unlocking cores which I can't do that wit my Athlon X2 240 but overall a great motherboard for the cost and performance. which I can unlock cores on my AMD Athlon II X2 240. It does function at least partially most of the time. Instantly two of the SATA plugs on the board fell out. Due to the fact then I've had continual shutdown issues and now it doesn't recognize some of the HDDs often. I've reset almost everything, redone connections, uninstalled and reinstalled it on various occasions. At the rate it's going, in another month it will be dead absolutely. From the excellent of construction to the efficiency, the only other board I've had that was as poor as this one was a DOA MSI board. I will not be purchasing a Gigabyte item once again.Surely it is not expense-powerful when taking consumer opinions and doable future purchases into account to bother producing this board. I have purchased this board for four diverse customers. I have not had a single prob with board. Using with Phenom 555 Black and two x 4GB Patriot 1600 memory. Along with wireless KB/Mouse, Dual monitors (LED and CRT), and two SATA HDD's, 2 SATA cd/dvd/dl/rw burners, 2 IDE HD, and Dual boot...Ubuntu and Win 7 Ultimate. Only diff with boards is version #. Glad I located a consistent board for prospects.

Presently Working with it as I kind, I would have to say this board is wonderful! I got it in a DIY Combo, and didn't feel it would be that great for how inexpensive it is, but I under estimated this board. I leave it on continually, and haven't had any problems at all.I have owned this board because 11ቬ񳏉. none so far. I wish it could of had USB 3. and DDR3 Ram slots, but hey it's a excellent board over all.

I was reading about my Phenom II B55 which is a dual core CPU and how some of them hare quad-core with 2 cores disables. I also identified that this board supports the feature to allow these disabled cores, and mine is now running quad core @ 3.0GHz stock speed. What a terrific board and at an great price! North bridge suns pretty hot (over 60* C) so I added a fan to NB to pull some heat off of it, now extremely stable. These are terrific boards and I suggest them. Own two personally and have applied almost certainly at least 10 additional for friends and buyers.

stable, potent, clear audio, all USB ports work, runs cool and quiet none that i can see im lazy and not making use of this board (or any of my hardware) to their fullest prospective. still, this board works fantastic, i saw an improvement in fps in all my games, as well as windows 7.

Works with my Linux distro ... PCLinuxOS 2010.12. mATx size, onboard video/audio, and overall attributes sold me for a HTPC create. None however. This is a Linux HTPC in progress. I am a fan of Gigabyte and Asus motherboards. This board so far has exceeded my expectations for a standard Linux based HTPC. I'm utilizing a AMD Regor AM3 CPU and I have it hooked to an LG 42" Tv via VGA...(have however to get HDMI to function) and a basic (audio) mini-plug to RCA stereo plugs into my "old" Yamaha receiver. The video/audio high quality is very excellent by my standards. Customer (Linux) reviews are most valuable and vital.

It did the job, whilst it worked. It died after three weeks, I sent it back, and it's still not here. This was TWO weeks ago, the service is horrible. Everything moves slow than a snail, and I'm acquiring fairly fed up with waiting.

Excellent Motherboard. I was skeptical in buying this board in that I bought 2 Gigabyte GA-MA785G-UD3H AM3/AM2+/AM2 AMD 785G HDMI ATX AMD Motherboards and was incredibly pleased with them due to the dual bios and ease of set up. I came to uncover out that this board has every little thing that the GA-MA785G-UD3H has such as the on board video which is a plus if your video card goes up. You don't loose the use of the laptop or computer. It also has an on board printer connector if you nonetheless have an old printer such as the HP 4L which I use only for text printing. All in all a great MOBO. None I really like Gigabyte Technology. Until they loose their touch I will purchase gigabyte pruducts. All stated. A friend of mine bought this board for his 940 ph2 and had it run the processor far hotter than it ought to. I have a distinct gigabyte board and skilled the identical problem right after moving from the bios version to allow the 940 phenom2 to the one for the Am3 processors. It appears that the newer bios runs the 940 at the voltage that the 945 runs at with this bios version. I had this board like about 7 - 8 months, and I bought a AMD x6core 1055T, and I require to update my bio to 12a. and immediately after it updates. It cant boost up my tough drive, so I try to reinstall win7 but it won't enable to.. so I call Tech Support from GIGABYTE, and the rep so rude to me, and sounds like if I don't know factor i shouldn't go update or some thing like this. Hey guys if every customer are realize every thing, you won't have a job, so please be patient to customer stick with them more, it's not try to hang up the phone quicker!! I been employing ASUS for long time, and my friend told me to use GIGABYTE mainly because they are so wonderful. Yes, the board feature is superior but customer service so poor!! Wonderful Board for the dollars. Install was a pain. This board looks wonderful, five sata connections, and a nice clean look, but the installation is seriously a pain. There are problems with the AHCI and RAID drivers. Its appears to be a known issue and is a Actual pain to get around.

Grabbed on to build my friend's HTPC for her apartment. Had a few DDR2 modules sitting around and was pleased to find a board that could use new processors with them.The integrated Radeon 4200 handles most HD contents just fine, but ended up putting a 4670 since she wanted to run a few games on it also.

This is a great motherboard for the foundation of my HTPC. It handles HD playback flawlessly (BluRay, 1080p HD x264 & 1080i TS MPEG-2) without any issues using the HD4200 onboard graphics when paired with an AMD X2 250 using Media Portal on Windows XP. It has been stable and without any issues since I completed the build.
