GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD7 ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:Gigabyte support is slow if you have problems. You will need a large case with LOTS OF FANS.
Pros:Options, options, and options. 24 GB of memory and a fast processor lets this beast handle most anything. Oh and did I mention lots of setup options and disk capibility. |

GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD7 ATX Intel Motherboard
Cons:Kinda big
Pros:Great Board, 3-Way Crossfire. Great for Oc Comment:
My friend was able to get this board, before it came out. This board is the cats meow. 3 Way sli, really good for over-clocking. OVerall just a fantastic board. |
Once it is running it is a very powerful platform. Unfortunately this is the second Gigabyte high-end board I have experienced problems with. Their support is normal in that they blame everything and everyone else. Turned out both boards had the same problem, poor soldering had to be cleaned up. Both boards could only be turned on or off. Neither Windows or Linux (3 flavors) OS could restart the system. The reset switch contacts, and the on-board hardware testing button turned the system off. after 2 1/2 weeks of emails I was offered an RMA at which point I gave it to a friend that is an electrical engineer who found the problem and fixed them. I would recommend testing these boards as soon as possible to be able to use NCIX return policy, it's much better than shipping it off and waiting ???long for a replacement. I am somewhere between "It works, but Would NOT Purchase Again" and "Satisfactory", but as I said when it works it is powerful. This review was modfied by poster @ 02-13-10 06:04 PM
