Crossfire Video for under $120!
Comment:
I bought two of these cards since they were advertised as CrossfireX. I wasn't expecting much but was very pleased. Installed both cards on an ASUS board. Downloaded latest Catalyst drivers from AMD. BAMM! Crossfire running like a dream. All my games now are screaming again! Highly recommend for |

Much better than predicted
Comment:
At first glance it may not compare to top of the line cards regarding its 4650 vs say 5800 on a more expensive card, but it can handle its own. stays cool, hasnt fallen apart yet, appears well built, doesnt even need overclocked but the overclock does work as far as i can tell. All games max settings all smooth so far, fear 2 has a slight bump when it saves but that has to be normal in any case i'd imagine. The only con i found it does not need its own plug. I just should have done my homework more like i did with the other stuff. |

Gigabyte Radeon HD 4650
Comment:
Works great, very good price. I did have to download the latest video drivers for this since I was installing XPP SP3. But the latest drivers worked good, too bad they didn't include them in the CD that came with the card. |

Video Card on Steroids!
Comment:
Bought to replace Nvidia 8500 in my homebuilt With EVGA mobo and AMD dual core, was skeptical of Radeon compatibility but installation was flawless. Cranked Unreal T3, Fallout3, Timeshift to max with no glitches or crash and was not overclocked. Awesome HUD overclocking interface feature. This card packs one atom bomb bang for the buck. |

GIGABYTE Radeon HD 4650 GV-R465OC-1GI Video Card
Cons:The one I bought has serious sound issues. Aside from a loud fan, which I expect from a video card, the fan blades were also hitting the side of the heatsink, creating a constant "clink... clink..." sound. Very annoying. I unplugged the fan and think I will try to fix or return the item.
Pros:Tom's hardware recommended it as best value for a $100 video card. Comment:
As long as yours doesn't have the annoying metal-on-metal sound, it's probably fine. I unplugged the fan when I was not playing video games for a quieter PC experience. |
Coming from a 4850 I was surprised just how powerful this card is. I was also concerned about the DDR2 version but have been very happy with it.This card plays almost anything including dragon age smoothly at reasonable detail levels. The memory is the weak point which is usually helped a bit by an overclock. I could only gain 25 mhz on the memory overclock without any artifacts, which isn't great. I didn't bother overclocking the core since it wouldn't make much or any difference.Good card. I'm very impressed with the 4650.If you buy a 4650 make sure its the 128bit version and not the 64bit version. Night and day!
