I own an iPod touch 2G so there was no built-in mic. After I updated the firmware to 3.1, there are some apps that needs a mic. But I don't want to buy an overpriced headphone with mic. Besides, i love my headphones. This is just what the doctor ordered! I keep my headphone but this adds the functionality of a mic. One disadvantage is you have to keep the cord tied because is too long... minor gripe though.
