Genius SW-2.1 800 20WATTS Output Gaming Speaker
Cons:- Wish the bass control was placed with the volume control (i.e. in the 'pod' rather than the back of the subwoofer)- On/off power switch is on back of subwoofer, which may be difficult to access (again, pod would be a better choice)- The satellite speakers are more directional than conventional speakers, which is fine for proximity listening but not great when trying to fill a room
Pros:- Adjustable bass volume (control on back of subwoofer)- Powered using 110V power cable (directly attached to subwoofer)- Volume control is separate pod that also includes headphone and a line-in jacks- Very well built for the price, quality switches and pots were used and it is well designed- Great sound considering it does not take up a lot of desk space (put the subwoofer on the floor if you can) Comment:
Awesome sound for the price, great for desktop and stationary laptop use. Best use would be for proximity listening. These speakers have decent stereo imaging, but as mentioned, I find the the satellite speakers more directional than standard speakers. The satellite speakers are fairly small, but they have a half decent sound, albeit lacking lower midrange. When they're coupled with the subwoofer, the overall system sounds great: the highs are crisp and the lows are very present. I run the subwoofer at about half volume. |

Genius SW-2.1 800 20WATTS Output Gaming Speaker
Cons:Poor sound quality, especially the subwoofer
Pros:Low price, nice design Comment:
I have to say, I bought this and felt the sound quality was a bit lacking - especially the subwoofer. After getting the Logitech S-220 though the difference in quality was obvious, these two are roughly the same price. |

Genius SW-2.1 800 20WATTS Output Gaming Speaker
Cons:none
Pros:Great sound, inexpensive, volume knob Comment:
I've been really impressed with these speakers. For the price, these speakers produce great sound and look pretty good too. The large volume knob is a treat, and the bass is better than something in this price range has any business being. Pick them up when they're on sale. |

Genius SW-2.1 800 20WATTS Output Gaming Speaker
Cons:bad location for power switch, the cord to plug into PC could be a bit longer
Pros:good sale price, powerful for their size, nice volume dial Comment:
Great for the price when it's on sale. The sound quality is decent and can go quite loud. The volume dial is a nice touch. The difference to the cheaper product isn't just the addition of the subwoofer, but the speakers also have a significantly higher power output than those other ones.Unfortunately the power switch is on the subwoofer instead of the volume dial unit. There's a very bright glowing light that can only be turned off when the power is shut off at the subwoofer, which is annoying if you keep the sub out of reach like most people do, and you want to turn off the light at night (if you sleep in the room for example). You may want to just cover the light with electrical tape or something similar. |
It sounds excellent in a small bed room. I did have to RMA it the first time I got it, so that was kinda suck, but regardless, the new one NCIX sent me has been excellent.
