Purchase this from the advice of my son to use for my Zumba class with my laptop - works great! I have no problems, everyone can hear the music from a small room to a gymnasium. Great product for a great price.

Don't get me wrong overall this is a great speaker set! Not many sets come with a seperate amp, but I wish it had a remote. Also I did't find the base to be very deep, my 10 yr old set of altec lansing that came with a very old pc.

Hooked them up with the 3.5 male to 3.5 male ends from the computer to the AUX and got the low humming from the speakers. Went out and bought the 3.5 to 2 RCA and sounds crisp and clear, Bass is great. Humming disappeared. Volume could be a little more but loud enough to enjoy. Sounds great with gaming or just playing music but would recommend the 3.5 to 2 RCA hookup if connecting to the PC.

And much better than expected. Purchased these to replace my favorite aging B.A. speakers. Sad to see those go yet am very happy with this set as a replacement. :)

I bought this system for my gaming husband and he loves it! The thing we noticed is that when the laser mouse is plugged into the keyboard it produces a buzz from the speakers. When it is unplugged it was fine. this was while we were watching a movie on his computer. It didn't make the buzz while he's gaming though, so all is good.

This system is a great deal! I was a little sceptacal but wow this system packs a punch.I would say it is well worth the money.I got this as a gift for my room mate and she has a nice little house stero and it blows it away!

Bought these to replace defective Cyber Acoustics speakers. I am very pleased with the ease of set up, the versatility of the speaker system, and the overall performance. Am seriously considering a second set for my tv.

Unpacked these puppies and plugged them in, the mids are tinny and the subwoofer is only good for an audible buzz throughout the otherwise tinny output. The cable between the soundcard and amp is cheezy and the connection is not sound and provides noticable pops and buzzes throughout the generally mediocre sound (swapping it out with a more sturdy aftermarket cable did not help), tried on a computer, an Ipod, and even an electric keyboard and the result is the same, not sure if we got a bad unit out of the box or this is how they work, will let you know though.

Absolutely the greatest sound system for the price. I worked with sound systems for about 45 years. I never ever thought that this sound system could be this good for such a low price. This is not a cheap system! It's a low priced fantastic system.

I just had a 2.1 Cyber Acoustics set give out on me after two years of use so I bought this set. Wish I had this option two years ago, had a short in the volume switch from day one with the CA set and the bass was just horrible but tolerable if you turned it almost all the way down. Very pleased with this Genius 2.1 set and love the Amp setup.

I really do like these speakers. I have had these speakers for over a year now and it still works fine with no problems. I do like that fact that you can adjust the treble, bass, and the main volumes.

Bass response is great for the size of the sub. I like the control unit amp except for the already mentioned too-bright blue LED. The speakers' drivers are not good at reproducing higher frequencies so the overall sound is a bit muffled.

Pros: Good sound,nice bass, got a air hole on the right side of the subwoofer box. Blue LED power light.speakers can be mounted on wall. Nice bang for the buck! Cons: BAD MANAUL! Thanks TD

I used this setup for my DVD/VCR combo which is connected to my older TV via coax. It has great sound and rich bass on most all TV programs and DEFINITELY on DVD's. I also use this DVD player just for playing audio or MP3 CDs and this speaker setup is perfect. **I was particularly attractaed by the fact that the the frequency responce on the SUB goes all the way down to 20Hz...as low as humans can hear. Just a great setup all-around for the $!!

Not sure what the next guy is talking about. Flawless out of the box. BIG sound, crystal clear. One problem, the blue light on the amp is BLINDINGLY bright, but tape fixes everything. Excellent buy, Excellent sound!

Hey guys. DO NOT BUY THIS SET. It looks nice and it wouldn't perform bad (for the buck) if right speaker wouldn't short out ,right out of the box. Spend more money on something else. Apparently GENIUS company do not care enough to have better output control for their products...shame on you Genius;-( Although Thank you DIRECT.COM for fast shipment and customer care...YOU ROCK GUYS;-)))) P.s. Pretty much what Jonesy said. I've had these for approximately a month and they sound great, as long as you stay away from the MAX vol & very high BASS. I don't get why they'd put so much volume if the speakers can't handle it. I almost blew mine! :( Besides that, the sound is nice and clear, accompanied with a great BASS, great value too! As always, you get what you pay for.

Had it for a couple of days now, completely exceeded my expectations, I was looking for one with a decent deep bass, and that's exactly what I got!! I read all the reviews about it, people seemed to be happy and so I bought it, is hard to really choose something ''Good'' nowadays, all the other product's reviews were also pretty good but this one had that ''Extra Bass'' I was looking for it seems all kind of music i throw at it sounds good, if you are looking for a good value, and don't want a really expensive system go for this one

Great speakers overall, great bang for the buck, BUT! for best long-term performance keep volume away from max and keep bass down, as the bass starts to sound bad past the lower end of the dial, and max volume will cause permanent buzzing if done too much.

Well these speakers can not be beat for the price. The back has input for red/white cables from any DVD or Gaming system, as well as an extra input for a 3.5mm cord from a MP3 player. In the box there was two 3.5mm cables, one for the computer for for an MP3, and there was one red/white to red/white so you could hook it up to a sound system if you wanted. The bass is awesome, the satellites are sufficient but I bought it for a good sub and that is what I got. The controller piece is nice with the three nobs for treble,bass, and volume although the little blue light on it is blinding a small piece of tape fixes it. Awesome deal for the price.
