Gigabyte Radeon HD 5450 Passive Cooling 650MHZ 1GB 1.3GHZ DDR3 VGA DVI HDMI PCI-E Video Card
Cons:runs a little hot in a htpc
Pros:very quiet from passive cooling designdecent pricecomes with low profile bracketif low profile bracket is used - you lose vga and keep the more important ones - hdmi/dvi |
decent price for an entry level card and plays 1080p content well. comes with a low profile bracket and if used, the vga port will be lost but hdmi/dvi are still available. very quiet due to it's passive design. noticeable difference from using onboard video however, it does run a little hot in my htpc at 60celcius (during video playback) and the case has decent airflow - 4 low rpm quiet fans. none are blowing directly into the video card though. if i had to choose again i might get one with a small fan - but i dont know how much cooler those run and if their fans are loud. since my focus was on silence for this htpc, i chose a passive one.
