Gigabyte Radeon HD R9 280X OC 1100MHZ 3GB 6.0GHZ GDDR5 DVI HDMI 2XMINIDP PCI-E Video Card
Cons:Draws a lot of powerDoesn't overclock much past the stock OCRev 1 shows as 7900 series
Pros:PowerfullQuietRuns bf4 on ultra without breaking a sweat Comment:
Do not buy REV 1. I repeat, do not buy REV 1.I've had nothing but problems from the time of purchase. Installed the card, it was recognized as a 7900 series card. I know it's a re-brand, but common, you mean to tell me they couldn't have changed the BIOS at least? Flashing the bios wasn't easy either as their bios updates on the site don't work with the card using their utilities. I had to use ATI tool and take a risk of bricking the card. Luckily, it worked. Don't buy this card with hopes of OC'ing either. It wont go much past the stock OC clocks.Blue PCB? Really?.. The r9 270 has black PCB. It's not that big of a deal but with all the problems I've had. It has become one.Apparently these cards are the Tahiti XT2 chips. The revision 2 is supposed to come with the XTL chips which is supposed to have better power consumption and OC clocks. Don't quote me, however from the extensive research I've done that is what I've found.WAIT FOR REVISION 2. BLACK PCB. WAY BETTER FAN DESIGN. AND PROPER BIOS. |

Gigabyte Radeon HD R9 280X OC 1100MHZ 3GB 6.0GHZ GDDR5 DVI HDMI 2XMINIDP PCI-E Video Card
Cons:-Heavy , pulling on the PCI-E slot-Not part of the Never Settle bundle yet
Pros:-Runs cool-Good performance-Can Crossfire with a 7970 if you already have one Comment:
Ordered this to replace my 6950 XXX 1GB card and have not been disapointed. My 3D Mark FireStrike scores have more then doubled and all of my games have seen much improved performance. The card is quite heavy and therefor pulls down on the PCI-E slot and sags a bit on the far end so I wouldn't want to transport the tower with the card in a whole lot. The card is quite large as well so you will want to make sure it will fit in your case first. It fits in my Antec nine Hundred Two V3 without much problem but I did move all the hard drives down to the bottom drive bays because I don't think it would have had room with the cables coming off the drives. |
i am very happy with this card for one even tho its a huge card and has 3 fans its not that loud i replace a GTX 560 TI 2GB with this card and got twice the BM, but the main reason i got a AMD card is for mantel low usage API that's a big game changer
