I have zero problems with it. No more than heating or anything. nicely, except one particular smaller factor. When I tried to back up my pc, I would constantly get an "error" because the difficult drive would fall asleep with my laptop. I didn't figure out that till a few failed attempts. So to solve it, I just turned the sleep function off whenever I'm backing up my computer. It's nevertheless an hassle to switch the sleep function off and on. It has a power cord that plugs into the wall and a USB cord. You would consider it would stay on even when the laptop falls asleep but, no. Quiet, affordable. Worked nicely on Leopard. On Snow Leopard drive when program comes out of sleep drive gets ejected. I have four other drives connected to the program (Fantom, seagate, samsung, WD) non of them have this difficulty. Devote a little far more and get a WD or Seagate drive
