Cons:
not very fast, So what! i'm in my basement
Pros: no more light flickery house Comment:
First i bought a Samsung CLP-320N. The light start to flick (blink) as soon as I turn it on in my house. yes the celling light! I try it in a friend home, same thing. Return it to futureshop. My black and with samsung did the same thing. So I decided to try this HP CP1518NI. This one work very well. The lan fonction is what i needed. With laser printer, print are always good compare to ink jet. |

HP Col Lj CP1518NI Laserpr 8/12PPM
Cons:Small tray capacity.Slow print speeds.
Pros:Easy installation.Functionality is there but lacks usefulness and not executed well. Comment:
This is a case of a company trying to make a product intended to fulfill many roles but ends up coming short on all of them. For a network printer you would expect a tray capacity of at least 500 pages but this falls short at 150.Both color and black and white printing are slower than their desktop counterparts. I have a B&W HP 1020 Desktop Laserjet with Printer sharing enabled that would fulfill about 80% of a small office's needs.Double-sided printing is strongly not advised as this network printer does not do it automatically. It's a real hassle if you have to wait for someone to manually finish their double-sided print job. The HP 1020 also makes it much easier to double sided print because the CP1518NI requires that you pull out automatic feed tray (the one that can only hold 150 pages) and reload the paper. You can't use the manual feed tray.I don't see much use in the card slot reader as it's a network printer. Usually you have your pictures files on your computer and then send them to be printed. You don't want to stand around the printer while everyone else wants to pick up their print job and be on their way.I understand now why there is a steep $165 rebate when I bought this unit. The printer tries to be something in between a desktop printer and the full fledged +$1000 network printers and it's not executed well. The only application I can think of this printer being useful is small, close office of less than 5 employees that require colour/photo printing regularly or something like a classroom setting for an afterschool club. |

HP Col Lj CP1518NI Laserpr 8/12PPM
Cons:a little slow but better than an inkjet
Pros:Superb color on plain paper Comment:
I am very happy with the overall functions. I bought the extra 256 meg memory - $999.99 from HP but $40.00 from Kingston. It helps with the spooling in the computer.Good for home or simple office use. Not for high usage office. |
Printer rollers clunking on every page feed or clean cycle, very annoying. Print quality is the best ive seen, very adjustable, can be adjusted both bond/heat and amount used. On sale for 200, was an ok deal.
