Some people just don't get it!
Comment:
I find it amazing how some people have had issues with this product. Connected with a Linksys router, I have three computers running XP, Vista, and 7, and all have no issue with this Print Server. For those people who submitted comments of difficulty, don't blame the hardware, it's the person setting it up that's the problem. If someone were to ask me for a printer server solution, I'd recommend this one. |

Failed in 24 Hours
Comment:
Failed in 24 hours. A Real pain to set up and never could get more than one computer to print - Now no computer on network will print. Hawking Tech Support are SmartAZZ arrogant jerks. |

Iffy at best !!
Comment:
On win XP I had issues with this device. Constantly having to reboot to get the documents to print, difficulty switching between PCs to print, and difficult to get it to recognize the printer. On Vista 64, it doesn't work at all. I'm back to a 50' USB cable to print with. |

Excellent Product - Easy Setup
Comment:
I found this PS very easy to setup and add to the office network. Once in place it has operated flawlessly since. The only drawback is you must use the Hawking Software and cannot use just a windows tci/ip configuration (so -1 for features). The software adds another level of complexity that I wasn't expecting. Knowing this, I would still order another next time. Hawking has a very good product here. |

Check the compatability list before ordering
Comment:
This unit didn't work with my DCP-7020, and there aren't many Brother machines on the compatability list. |

Good solution - recommend
Comment:
This tiny unit really nseems to deliver. I had all kinds of problems getting it to find the printer but discovered the errors were all in how I had installed the printer's driver - the Print Server was not the problem. Be sure to get rid of your old drivers and start fresh. The printer runs at good speed. Their list of supported printers as found on their site has not been updated since 2007, and my printer was not on the list, but it runs - I suggest they update this listing. |

Great Product
Comment:
I have have 2 computers, one which I use to use as print server, but seeing that I was changing OS, the other computer wouldn't be able to print, this product enable me to be able to share my printer and scanner with both and let me change OS or modify OS multiple times, letting the other computer print without restrictions, My installation was easy on most OS's, but please view the compalibility chart on their website to be sure the Multifonctions work |

Hawking HMPS1U Print Server for Multifunction Printers - USB 2.0
Comment:
I have a network with 2 XP wireless laptops and 1 vista (64bit) wireless laptop through a linksys router. The Hawking print server does everything it is supposed to do with the XP laptops...i.e. print, scan. But the vista laptop can see the print server and can ping it but the control center can not see the printer. Tried to set up printer through vista with tcp/ip printing. Still no go.Hawking tech support did try to help but the print server only supports vista(32 bit) not vista(64bit). |

Hawking HMPS1U Print Server for Multifunction Printers - USB 2.0
Comment:
Bought this PS to use at my company with an Epson Stylus R1900 colour photo printer. The only trick was I had to enable LPR printing, set the LPR queue name to USB1_LQ (all caps) then enable LPR byte counting under the printer port settings. After that it worked like a charm. Great product!!! |

This Print Server works nicely. The software installed quickly and the hardware was just as easy to install. After installing the software in the all machines in the house (hardwired and wireless) I was able able to print with no problem. Very happy with its performance. |

Hawking HMPS1U Print Server for Multifunction Printers - USB 2.0
Comment:
THIS PRINT SERVER IS AWESOME! I use this for my HP 2170 Printer/scanner/copier. I have a D-Linc DI-624 router, Network Magic software, and both my desktop and wireless laptop work great. The Hawking Software is easy to install and use, and most importantly, it supports both printing AND scanning!!! Prior to purchasing, I researched the D-linc printer servers (to keep everything the same manufacturer to reduce compatability issues) and none of their documentation specified that they supported data FROM a device (scanning, diagnostics, and ink levels for example). I called D-Linc's customer service, and got bounced back between sales and tech support a few times. They were friendly and professional, but nobody could tell me if their servers (DP-300 or DP-301) would handle 2-way commumication with peripherals.. The Hawking server works with printers, scanners, USB flash/hard drives if you want to share data between network computers and you can even access them remotely via the internet. |
This unit does work for it's intended purpose, but may be the most complex to use device of it's type I have seen. I have only tried it with a printer and it works. I am still trying to figure out the scanning.
