Hipstreet 2.4GHZ Wireless Indoor and Outdoor iPhone & iPod Docking Speaker System
Cons:Haven't found any yet.
Pros:Actually works properly with an iPhone 3gs, zero cables to the speakers (not even to charge them), good sound...stereo too, did not drain the batteries even after 9 hours of continuous play. |
I set up the base with an iPhone (inside the house) in a window adjacent to the deck and positioned the speakers outside about 20 feet away, that way I could control the iPhone with the unit's remote and not have to bring the iphone or the base outside. To make changes on the iPhone I just walk up to the window where I can see the screen. The sound is not tinny and surprisingly good; they're vented so they can put out a bit of base. I'd say they're better than most PC speakers of the same size. For ambient music they're excellent, and you can turn them up pretty loud too.If you don't want to use an iphone/pod you just take the USB transmitter stick out of the bottom and plug it into a PC (you don't need the base). The only cable is the DC adapter cord to the base. The speakers have their own built-in Li-ion batteries that charge by induction when you sit them back on the base. This is a really well-thought out product, well worth $129.99 and an absolute bargain at $79.99.
