Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA3 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive OEM
Cons:- Price $$$
Pros:- Fast- Quiet- Better reputation for reliability Comment:
Are HDD prices ever going down ??? I remember buying 2TB HDDs just before the flooding last year and prices were not this high. Anyway apart from the price, this drive is fast, quiet and has a better reputation for reliability. Strongly recommended! |

Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA3 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive OEM
Cons:Not the fastest
Pros:FastQuietNo vibration Comment:
Bought these to put in RAID-0. Very fast and quiet drives. Some reviews say they vibrate a lot but mine don't. They vibrate slightly more than WD Greens and less than Seagate Barracudas.Testing these individually with HD Tune gives me 156MB/s MAX reads and in RAID-0 307MB/s. Not as fast as the Barracudas but I had a difficult time finding a pair of those that matched in performance. The two Hitachi's I got are near identical in performance, good consistency. |

Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA3 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive OEM
Cons:Vibrates like crazy
Pros:Very fastReasonably quietSale price Comment:
Picked this drive up for $99 on sale and so far I'm very impressed. The drive is very fast; HD Tune reports an average read speed of 121MB/s and access time of 16ms, and my own personal benchmarks place it ahead of the Caviar Black 2TB.My only complaint is it vibrates like crazy. If you have undampened hard drive mounts, you may want to look elsewhere. I'm going to suspend it with elastic, so this shouldn't be an issue. |

Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA3 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive OEM
Cons:Rebates
Pros:QuietReliableReasonable Transfer speeds Comment:
I deal with about 50-75 hard drives a year as part of building up systems for people. Overall I would rate the Hitachi's as the most reliable to date. I have yet to have one fail either early or after a number of years. I would hear about failures through my customers.Do not expect to ever see any money from any of their rebates, at least if you are in Canada. I have received a number of pre-charged credit cards for rebates and have yet to find any vendor who would accept them. NCIX will not help you with resolving this problem either. Buy then expecting the price you pay. This review was modfied by poster @ 02-09-12 04:50 PM |

Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA3 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive OEM
Cons:None.
Pros:Very quietVery fastLots of room ! Comment:
I've had this drive for half a year, and never had any problems with it. It works great, it's fast, and I've got plenty of space !I was able to get it for about 140$ with a Price-Match, but that was before the hard drive shortage. The 64MB of cache (versus 32MB) really makes a difference. |

Hitachi Deskstar 7K3000 2TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA3 3.5IN Internal Hard Drive OEM
Cons:No issues have been encountered.
Pros:It's a hard drive. It's 2TB. It's 7200RPM. It has a good warranty. Comment:
There have been no issues with using this drive. It's been partitioned and it reads and writes as it should. It's not too slow, either, considering that it's a massive 2TB. |
Will outlast any WDC or Seagate drive, supports RAID 5 as TLER is not required in this drive. Quite simply the only choice, as I haven't had any failures ever with Hitachi.
