Cons:-did not boot with one of my systems but no problem with the one it was for.-loses windows shares if not booted with computer ( probably OS related )

USB drives these days do what they need to do and this one is no different. The nice thing about this one is it powers up with the computer and shuts down as well. Great the multimedia computer it's currently connected to. First the good - easy hookup - can either use the included feet to stand upright or lay down on the desk - quiet - boots/shutdown with computer - powers up/shutdown anytime the USB cable is attached/removed.Two concerns - The first is on the first computer I attached it to it actually stopped the computer from booting. I'm assuming it's something to do with the BIOS but didn't look further into it since it wasn't the final destination anyway. The second is that if the drive does not start with the computer it loses information of which folders are shared...probably an OS issue rather than a drive issue but seeing how it's "removeable storage" one would hope it would maintain it's shares.Overall an excellent product - the best selling point for me was the fact that I can hook it up to my multimedia computer which I power up only when I want to view my data and the drive is only on while the computer is on....no separate power connection. |
The hard drive stopped being recognized by my mac. I only owned it for 4 days and it's already dead. Thinking that this was a safe drive I transfered some files and deleted them and now I lost them forever.I'm not the only person that has this problem either.Avoid at all cost.
