Its a good item
Comment:
Although I had the impression that the switch would switch automatically with any program...it did not with some of the nontypical government applications. But with my common programs (word, excell, ect) no manual switching was needed. Overall Great product!

not auto, but works good
Comment:
The software worked fine, as does the switch. It is not automatic as I expected and was told however. Also it should be stated that extra cables came with the switch. It is only a nice extra if I did not already order extra cables.

Works ok but not auto
Comment:
When coonnecting two computers to a single external hard drive it works fine as a software a b type switch. The term AUTO in the product title is a little deceiving since user still must use provided software to disconnect access from one computer before using on the other.

Handy product
Comment:
The switch works, but I wish the installation and instructions for using the switch were more detailed for a novice like me. After I switch between printers, I seem to have to unplug the cable from the switch and plug it back in to make the computer print.

Simple but powerful
Comment:
It works right out of the box. I can use it with Linux, Windows and Mac. No software or special OS requirements needed as I can switch devices with the touch of a button.

Just What I Needed
Comment:
This simple-to-use and inexpensive product solved my problem and allowed me to easily use one printer from two different computers when networking the printer wasn't an option - I'm very happy.

solved my problem, cables included
Comment:
This solved my problem to be able to print from 1 XP PC & 1 Vista PC. Printer sharing is not allowed between the 2 different programs. Installing the switch took care of the problem. FYI-this unit comes with 2 USB A-B cables. If the seller would add that text to the product info, people like me, would not of purchased cables seperate.

Ideal soultion dual ISP office
Comment:
Having experienced recurring problems with out Towerstream ISP we recently added Comcast as a redundant ISP vendor. Rather than allowing Comcast to sit idling, I ran it to one of my 2 personal PC's at work effectively taking me out of the printers networked at the office on that unit. With 3 USB cables - 2 were included - switch & software installed I instantly had access to my main LaserJet from both PC's. Problem solved for about 30 bucks and 5 minutes of installation time. No buttons to push. All seemless in the background. I wish all my problems were this easy to fix.

Works perfectly
Comment:
Acquired to share printer between home PC and business laptop, both running Windows XP. Required installation of a software component (shipped with unit); has been working perfectly ever since. For printing, switches automatically; for scanning, it may be necessary to first "assert" use of the device through that software program - but then it works just fine. Highly recommended; excellent value.
