Comment:
Compact, inexpensive. Physical construction great. Very good cabling. Doesn't want desk space. Restricted in the video modes it will operate. Won't sit on desk. Doesn't function with the video modes I want. It was on the shelf too lengthy to return, sad to say.

Affordable. Little. Cables integrated. I have 2 of them, working like champs so far. Good video top quality at 1280x1024. No PS needed is great. Wired in attached cables created installation intriguing. I will most likely finish up shopping for much more of these, if the 2 I have now hold working the way they have to date.

This thing will connect up to any pc. It even worked with a Dell that had no PS2 ports, and I had to use a USB to 2 PS2 port adapter. Quick connect and switching with great compatability. The cables are a tiny light- I would have prefferred something a little heavier, especially for the video cable. While the video signal does not appear degraded despite being a smaller gauge cable. I have had troubles in the past exactly where a affordable KVM with bad cables produces a ghosting image- but this unit does not have this issue. This hase been the 4th KVM switch that have utilised and by far the most compatable with any motherboard it has been attached to. I have used the Zonet and Trendnet units in the past, and was convinced that some MB would just be incompatable with particular KVM switches. This unit proved me incorrect. I have yet to attach a personal computer that it won't detect. Get THIS SWITCH!

Easy, quick, seems the top quality is just fine. Didn't go with a less costly a single mainly because of the critiques and the cable length, and so forth. Keyboard functions perfectly. Mouse: See cons. Mouse lags on the older method I have it hooked up to. A LOT. Not certain if I need to return it or just deal with it as that system is primarily for downloads now and from time to time doing secondary projects on with a tablet, which won't lag. (Graphic Designer) New computer ࿠-bit Vista, 4gigs of ram, Intel Core 2 Duo, 9800GT, and so on) performs just fine, except that the mouse will pause in place for up to a second from time to time. It's definitely in the KVM switch as when hooked straight it doesn't do this. Never applied a KVM prior to. Is this typical for switches that don't use a power supply? Like anything else about it. ...wish I just had a second monitor so I didn't need to have it.

Effortless to use, straightforward to set up. Very content with the hotkey setup. Considerably far better than a physical switch to alter in between PCs. A small cluttered, but it is what it is.

Does not appear to work. Looks good. I picked this KVM over quite a few other people due to the rave evaluations but either I got a dud or it does not perform with Windows 7. I read the one evaluation which indicated the colors were off on their Windows 7 machine but I get no display at all when I connect the KVM. I'm seriously disappointed. Manufacturer Response:Thank you for deciding upon IOGEAR and sorry about your knowledge. This KVM only bypass the VGA signal and feed it to the monitor, it must have display on your setup, we think you might have a poor unit. Due to the fact this unit is backed by IOGEAR’s three year warranty, please really feel totally free to make contact with our tech assistance at 1龢ꏚ-4327 and we would be glad to enable you troubleshoot your setup. If you genuinely have a poor unit, we would absolutely aid you procedure an RMA for you to make certain you have a great unit. As soon as once again, thank you for deciding upon IOGEAR.

It operates effectively for particular configuations, just not mine. The switch's hotkey is the Scroll Lock essential and can\'t be changed, my 3 newest Logitec keyboards do not have a scroll lock essential. This switch doesn't perform with a PS2/USB converter, my laptops only have USB input, so no keyboard will function for my laptops.I purchased two of them.

This KVM switch functions fine as long as I have PSǘ ports at every single laptop or computer. Analog video excellent suffers a bit (ghosting beside text characters primarily), but no far more than with other units I've used. I could not drive the mouse output of this into a PSǘ to USB converter and then into a ThinkPad. There's almost certainly some difference in the drive levels and so on.

Basic to use, software switching, compared to USB KVMs PSǘ has more rapidly switching. Right after much less than a year the switching would trigger randomly when I didn't want it to and it wouldn't when I did want it. Due to this I select to move to an IOGEAR model with USB and a button switch which had worked gear. I would highly advise the GCS22u for 3$ much more. Manufacturer Response:Thank you for deciding on IOGEAR and sorry about your knowledge. The KVM undoubtedly ought to not react that way, and considering that this KVM is backed by IOGEAR’s 3 year warranty, please really feel cost-free to make contact with our tech assistance at 1龢ꏚ-4327 and we would be glad to procedure an RMA for you to get you a excellent unit. Works perfectly out of the box. It's switched just about every single time. I've owned this for 2 or three years and so far it's outlasted the monitor (CRT to LCD), the keyboard, the mouse, and the actual computers themselves. No audio, but due to the fact 1 laptop or computer was hooked up to a surround sound program I didn't care about that at the time and didn't shop for that. Since I fix a lot of computer systems I commonly use this KVM for the added personal computer. It's been hooked up to at least 50 various computer systems and not once have I had a problem.

It switches between the computer systems just fine. The "Scroll Lock" key toggle was simple and efficient. Both computer systems operated normally except for one particular issue on the Windows 7 machine. With the KVM switch connected, the graphic interface on my Windows 7 ࿠ bit) machine was entirely off color... a nice heavy, pinkish or redish tint. When plugged into the monitor "on its personal", the Windows 7 machine (without the KVM switch) had standard color graphics. The second machine with Windows XP worked just fine. I contacted Iogear and they informed me that the GCS62 is not compatible with Windows 7. Their internet site does not specifically state that it "is" Windows 7 compatible, therefore, it is not. This was not Newegg's fault but they helped me out, anyway. Two thumbs up for Newegg! Manufacturer Response:Thank you for deciding on IOGEAR and sorry about your expertise. From your description above, it could be that the distinct port has dilemma. You can verify that by swapping the two computer systems on the KVM connection and see if the similar problem has shifted to the XP pc. But given that this unit is backed by IOGEAR’s three year warranty, please really feel free to speak to our tech support at 1龢ꏚ-4327 and we would be glad to assist you. As soon as again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

Worked for a small while right out of the box. This product is not worth the time and work. Following not even a complete two months the screens had been all jumbled up to a point that you could not tell what was on the screen. Contacted IO Gear and they informed me that they would replace the unit but I would have to spend for all the shipping which came out to far more than the item was worth. Newegg has stated that they will ship me a replacement. Hopefully it'll perform this time for a tiny longer than two months.

Let's me use one monitor, 1 keyboard, and a single mouse in between two computers as advertised. Switching between the two systems is a breeze with a rapid double tap of the "scroll lock" key (not certain I've ever needed that key ahead of). Cable length has been plenty long for my requirements. May not fit your demands nicely if you don't have PSǘ connections for your mouse, keyboard, and computers. Maybe could be created to work with (PSǘ)/(USB) adaptors at added cost. As a heads up to those that may well care only about the one monitor between two computers as I initially did: the minimum for undertaking this seems to be having one particular laptop or computer and one keyboard with PSǘ. The remaining keyboard and two mice then can be connected to the respective computers as they normally would and you just have the one particular keyboard to switch which pc feeds to the monitor.

This is an affordable unit, and in theory, it is nicely developed. In actuality, the software is not constant. I have used two of these devices and each are afflicted with the exact same problem. I am a quickly typist and use my computers all day. I spend most of my time on one laptop or computer, but periodically switch to my private computer for a job. As I am a rapid typist, I have not been able to isolate the problematic key combination, but when I hit some combination or sequence of keys, the device starts toggling, on its own, in between the two connected PCs. I have located no way of correcting the problem without having crawling under my desk to disconnect each computers from the device. I have to do this each two -three weeks. It is enormously frustrating. The notion behind the device is wonderful, but as I've looked at other reviews, I've noticed this problem reported by other people as properly. I would advise you discover an option product to solve your two laptop or computer, 1 monitor, mouse, keyboard concern. I am going to discover one more item I can count on. Manufacturer Response:Thank you for picking IOGEAR and sorry about your experience. From your description above, I think you have triggered the autoscan mode by accident by pressing left shift important then correct shift crucial as a sequence. Whenever autoscan is triggered, it will toggle among the ports automatically, you can just press spacebar to finish the autoscan action. We understand your concern for rapidly typing people today may possibly trigger the hotkeys by accident; we have already removed the left shift and right shift sequence for all our newer KVMs for autoscan mode. If you wish to appear for an option, you could consider our GCS22U which has a remote switch button to toggle in between computers rather of employing hotkeys. If you would like to use hotkeys rather, you might consider our GCS632U which can share a set of speaker among the two computers also. If you have any question, please feel cost-free to make contact with our 24ǝ tech support at 1龢) 946-4327. When again thank you for deciding on IOGEAR.
