Scanner not so portable
Comment:
I was disapointed with the scanner. I was expecting a truely portable scanner that I could take with me and scan to a flash driver or memory card, such as the Pandigital Portable scanner. I was looking for more resolution. I liked the fact that IriScan was 600dpi. Otherwise I think it is good scanner, just not what I wanted |

Good scanner - Bad Vista
Comment:
Scanner does exactly what you need it to do. The software provided is SUPERB! Windows Vista won't recognize the device. |

love it
Comment:
This product is exactly what I needed. Light, portable and scans clearly. Not the fastest in the world however for client hopping and scanning instead of copying & lugging around paper, this is a great alternative. Read the instruction because the software setup may not be as easy as it looks, but for me it worked after 5 min. of playing with it. Thanks for your service. |

Not Completely 64-bit Compatible
Comment:
The device is exactly what I wanted. It is portable, fast, and produces excellent images. Unfortunately, it has some limitations when running under Vista 64-bit. As far as I can tell, it can only be used as an outboard scanner (using the device's left-hand button). I have not been able to scan directly from other programs running under Vista 64-bit. Also, the software provided with the IRIScan doesn't appear to function with Vista. Having said all that... If you're just looking for a handy, portable scanner, and don't really need much cooperation between it and your OS, the IRIScan Express is an excellent choice. |

No, Michelle, it won't scan slides
Comment:
No, it won't scan slides. They're too thick and the rollers would mangle your slides. Anyway, why would you want to scan slides at 600 dpi?? My slide scanner has a resolution of 7200 dpi. You need at least 5000 dpi. At 600, it would look horrible. |

Very nice product
Comment:
Software loaded easily (with XP) scanner worked immediately. Very easy to use - needed no instructions at all. A bit pricey, but certainly effective. |

IRISCan Express 2 Portable Scanner - 600 DPI, USB
Comment:
Perfect! Just installed it flawlessly. This scanner scans documents very nicely. I am really impressed by the fact that it comes with full text software, full business card software. I checked the manufacturer's website, if you were to buy the software separately, you would spend more than 200 USD! I love it! Strong solution, can't find anything bad about it, maybe becasue I am still ''product-struck''. You have to admit, such a small scanner, capturing everything and anything anywhere you are or go is awesome! |

IRISCan Express 2 Portable Scanner - 600 DPI, USB
Comment:
Ignore my star rating:I haven't used it enough to know. The scanner works OK and I'm not using the included software (I just needed a second portable scanner) but I had serious installation problems on WindowsXP SP2. The wizard repeatedly failed with the message ''the class installer has denied the request to upgrade this device'' IRIS tech support (very nice, but only avail M-F 9-5!!)says this problem has been reported and they haven't figured it out. It took me over six hours of trying everything, including editing my registry. What finally worked was restoring XP to an earlier date -- and I'm not sure why that worked. The scanner is identical to the NeatReceipts scanner, just re-branded, but the firmware/driver may be different. I installed the NeatReceips scanner on a different machine with no problem -- but it cost $90 more. |
I wanted to scan tax documents. The jpeg scans were always black in large spots. I tried the OCR software and it required more time to get the documents correct than it was worth. If you want simple scanning and portablilty, don't get this product. I am too busy with tax prep to send it back. Don't buy it.
