Intel 520 Series 60GB 2.5IN SSD MLC 25nm SATA3 Solid State Disk Flash Drive OEM
Cons:nonenone
Pros:Super fast. Installed windows in about 10 minutes. 3-5 second boot times from start up. Boot is so fast i have to spam the Del key to get into BIOS. Comment:
All programs installed to SSD are amazingly fast during load, obviously. Would buy again |

Intel 520 Series 60GB 2.5IN SSD MLC 25nm SATA3 Solid State Disk Flash Drive OEM
Cons:Slower than expected reads and writes (400/98), using CrystalDiskMark 3.0.1x64.Although the SSD comes formatted and ready to go, if you want to format, you need to use Intel toolbox to Secure Erase the disk before re-formatting.Formatting without SecureErase slowed the performance significantly.I did have one hiccup without SecureErasing the drive, it was not seen in bios ... once again, make sure you secure erase the disk using intel toolbox, if you want to clean and reformat the drive.
Pros:Fast (+400Mb/s reads) with low access timesSata 3Intel StabilityIntel ToolboxSecureEraseMature Sandforce firmware Comment:
Intel makes the most reliable SSDs on the market ... despite the price hike, you really get what you pay for.Been Overclocking all week, and despite windows crashing dozens of times, the Intel 520 SSD keeps booting without a hitch and no file errors. Just amazing ...It is faster than my previous sata 2 ssd and combined with a 3770k, I never thought the day would come when navigating windows seemed so instantaneous. I'm really really happy with the purchase.Definitely, a highly recommended product. |

Intel 520 Series 60GB 2.5IN SSD MLC 25nm SATA3 Solid State Disk Flash Drive OEM
Cons:Seems a bit slow compared to the other 520s (atleast in benchmarks but it's actually very very fast)Only enough space for the OS and a few games or programs
Pros:Very fastSolid buildReliable Comment:
If you're looking for a not so expensive SSD to only put your OS and a few games on it and have great reliability. This one is an excellent choice. This review was modfied by poster @ 04-25-12 08:52 PM |
Purchased this SSD as OS / Boot drive to install Windows 7 64 Bit to...Installation was quick and easy. The results have been spectacular as I have taken my friend's computer from booting at 1 the one minute mark to having him at his desktop in around 11 seconds after power on & the computer post.Reports applications are fast and responsive and loves the over all speediness of his system.I've always used Intel SSD's and never had a problem with any of them...definitely recommend!
